Uconnect update I actually like… so far

You can try pushing the volume and tune buttons for ~10 seconds to reboot it. I tried doing that to mine while driving and it wouldn't correct itself until I shut the truck off for a while. Once I started it up, everything was back to normal.
Tried all the stuff I could after reading this thread. None of that worked. And I hadn’t read anyone who while driving and fully functioning had it reboot and go back to dance party.

Mine has progressively gotten worse.

Dealership tried flashing unit. Replacing all the appropriate software/firmware and problem instantly returns. So only option is unit replacement.

So I get to drive from Vegas to San Jose with only part of my trucks functionality. (Assuming I can at all). Not sure what if anything will function tied to the infotainment system.

Sucks it is less than two months from initial purchase. Complete garbage software. Testing in production tells me that these “developers” write very poor code with no proper testing, quality, or verification.

This should be a very slow deliberate process. It isn’t. It is clear they are pushing garbage code into production and hoping it works.

Doing this to customers who own $125k + vehicles tells me a lot about the value we have as customers to Ram.

Which obviously doesn’t surprise me as the still haven’t resolved their own theft problem. This is clear because the have no incentive to, as enthusiasts often comeback. Blaming the thieves not the manufacturer.

/end rant

Just pushing and holding the on/off button for 10 secs seems to reboot the infotainment center for me. Sometimes one reboot will fix "stuff" and sometimes it takes a few try's to get everything working again. Good thing is I can do it while driving. Sort of like playing craps and trying to hit the point.

I wished this helped. It does not for me. See my above comment (first half, second is a rant cause obviously frustrated)

Mine does the screen dance party as well, luckily after a reset and few key cycles it goes away for a period of time… then returns. Agree with the rant and rightfully so, these sort of updates should be slow and methodical, not rushed.

Result from dealership in Vegas. After flashing firmware with clean installation, problem persists instantly. So, solution is to replace entire UConnect 5. Which of course has to be in stock.

Love that I have had it for just over 2 months to have this fun experience! An easily preventable one!

@RamCares Can you ask IT guy if we do a full reset and if we could just load 25.48 or some other stable version via USB and be back to normal? The other option is just to rename an older, stable version as a new number and push it over the air to the TRX block of VIN's. That's likely the source of the problem, TRX is on the RHO vin block for the updates.
