Uconnect update I actually like… so far

Please tell me how to update to 2022 from a flash drive or through a website from another country?! It doesn't work over the air for us.
I would be happier if ram couldn’t do over the air!!!
Looks like someone above dropped the file so you can usb update.

Good morning all,

The new AOTA campaign began to roll out yesterday (9/14). We expect that some of you on the forum will receive this first round, so please let us know if you have any issues.
Additionally, for @TyRex questions about rolling back software, this is not possible. The radio will not accept a lower version and your servicing dealer will tell you the same information — if they were to plug in a USB with a lower software version (T branch, for example) while you are already at U branch, a message will pop up not allowing the update to continue. In the past we offered manual software updates, and this is something we have communicated (and will continue to communicate) that customers are very interested in having access to again.

We look forward to seeing this AOTA continue to roll out and do still expect all TRX customers to receive the update in the next two weeks (potentially sooner). As a reminder, the AOTA-only functions a little differently, so you won't see a pop-up message informing you of the update like you do for a FOTA. The AOTAs are 'silent' and happen on the backend, so you'll need to check the affected pages to see if you've received the update and gotten the TRX graphics back.

As always, let us know if there are any other questions we can answer.

Thanks for the info. My 2020 Ford allows me to rollback firmware versions manually and doesn’t force me to update if I don’t want too. I know you (the person behind the RamCares) have no fault here but please, let whoever is behind this uConnect thing to stop forcing updates. If I’m happy with a product and don’t need to update, why should I update? My radio was perfect, couldn’t complain until one day it started updating while I was driving and had to pull over because the driving mode was disabled and a lot of things started going on the screen. That’s not safe and this is not uConnect property. We bought a truck with their product, thanks to us they get paid. They should take this more serious because it’s been a nightmare for several months for a lot of users. I drive the truck and don’t look that screen anymore, and the dash map that I liked to use, I can’t use it anymore because to get the map in the cluster, I need to restart the radio. I use uConnect on my Durango, and except the annoying “UConnect Box requires service” -> Hit OK and drive 😆, everything else work fine. Just 1-2 updates since 2021 and never an issue. Hopefully all this will get fixed someday, as the driveshaft clunk and axle boots… I am optimistic!! 😆
But seriously, thanks for the updates!

@RamCares - your post indicated that all TRX customers would receive the update within 2 weeks (starting on 9/14). The 2 weeks have come and gone, and my truck still hasn't been updated. It still shows the RHO graphics, and the Drive Mode button still reverts back to "Auto". Can you please advise - with realistic timeframes - when all TRX's will be updated? If you need it for reference, my VIN is 1C6SRFU96NN111907.

Don’t feel alone, same here… I started to hate that big screen. Crazy how they have messed up my experience after 1 happy year. Again @RamCares, I think the best solution here is a roll back. They said that’s not possible, and I do believe that’s possible. That’s just a piece of hardware using a software. You can re-install it like the first time when you did it in a virgin screen. They say no, I say it is doable. They just need to care and want to fix their mess.

Be careful what you wish for. I got the updated graphics, and page 2 of the gauges is back. Still can't see factory navigation on the dash screen and every other start up I get the dancing radio screen. None of the buttons work for just over a minute. No combination of resetting or tapping hard buttons will get rid of the dancing screen any longer. It takes a full power cycle after a reboot to get the screen back to normal.
Gone are the days of just jumping in my truck and rolling down the road. I'm driving a bricked truck that takes multiple steps to get it partially functional.

At this point I have no faith in Ram or @RamCares to correct this issue.

You have scared the hell out of me! @RamCares could you ask your team to stop that update?? I don’t want more issues.

Got the hellcat image back. Still have two pages of guages. Only issue is the horsepower graph.

Give it time. Hellcat image will stay but gauge page will revert to showing only one page.

Im down to 1 page of gauges....

And the performance pages are all weird...

I still have 2 pages of gauges and the Hellcat. I did lose traffic and POI's.
You’re lucky. I have to reset the radio to get the second page and then it only lasts a day or so.

I’m not sure you really want the new update.. I got it it it made everything even worse than before.

Same. We need to find away to get the original version back.
It’s a safety issue.

I agree, that’s the only way out.

From a quick research, it looks like the original version for 2024 TRX was
MY24.U31.42
It also seems that they pushed us version MY24.U29.42 later, and it might have still been stable.

Few dealerships might have the option to restore it to the original factory settings.
I’m going to try it out.
Since they pushed us the U29.44 it all went downhill.

You cannot revert back to a previous version. Going to the dealer to ask them to do this will just be a waste of your time.

Did you try?
All the dealer is able to do is download the updates from Dealerconnect and put it on a flash drive. Even if they got ahold of an older version, if the version on the flash drive is lower than what’s already on the radio, the truck rejects the update.

Nothing anyone but Stellantis can do about it.
