Uconnect update I actually like… so far

You’re lucky. I have to reset the radio to get the second page and then it only lasts a day or so.

I lost the second page of gauges today, but gained back traffic and POI's. I don't normally look at the gauges on the 12" screen, so that's a fair trade off for me. All of the gauges are available in the EVIC, which is where I view them anyway.

@RamCares - your post indicated that all TRX customers would receive the update within 2 weeks (starting on 9/14). The 2 weeks have come and gone, and my truck still hasn't been updated. It still shows the RHO graphics, and the Drive Mode button still reverts back to "Auto". Can you please advise - with realistic timeframes - when all TRX's will be updated? If you need it for reference, my VIN is 1C6SRFU96NN111907.

WHY IS THIS TAKING SO LONG TO FIX?

Hi @Eighty , after further review, we can confirm that your vehicle received the AOTA on 9/24. Please let us know if you are still seeing the RHO graphics.

@SandBlastard At this time, all customers should have received the AOTA. If you have not, feel free to let us know.

The picture I posted last night (9/28) was a current picture from 9/28. So yes, I am confirming that I still see the RHO graphics.

Yeah, we received the update and its still not repaired as many of us have stated. The numerous glitches are mentioned in the last 5 or so pages.

Maybe your truck has received the AOTA, but it is waiting for just the right time to install - like when you need your nav to find your way in an unfamiliar location or when you're especially vibing to a new song or you're mid telephone call with your sweetie.

And what’s the reason to push

Dozens of more pages in other threads. @RamCares, does the company already acknowledge the fact the “fix” failed?
What’s next?

Driving home, I tried rebooting the radio - seeing if the truck would acknowledge any kind of change. Still comes up with the RHO graphics, flaky Drive Mode, and only one page of gauges. So I'm a bit skeptical here, @RamCares . Not sure I believe that my truck received the update.

I got the update, version U35.26, and it much more glitchy than U29.44 that I had before.
Both has RHO graphics, the “fix” gave me a couple of days with the right graphics while taking away the option to setup a custom driving mode, dash navigation display and many more glitches.
Check you version number to confirm it.

Mine still shows U35.26 (which is what it has shown since at least early August). It's my understanding that this AOTA doesn't update the version number - it's some kind of behind-the-scenes update.

35.26 doesn't signify this new AOTA - I've had that for a couple months, but just received the updated AOTA a little over a week ago. Apparently there isn't a way to verify if you've received the current update unless @RamCares verifies it or you've had consistent hellcat graphics. Unfortunately, that is ALL this update changes; all the other shit show we still have to endure, including the potential for the reverse camera to not function if you get one of the many reboots after start-up. My truck has rebooted approximately 20 times since I received the update. 🤬

I’m still on T27.46, not sure how the standard update gets pushed, but I’m happy to stay on this version. I just have the RHO motor graphic issue so far, but everything else seems to work as expected.

From a quick research, it looks like the original version for 2024 TRX was
MY24.U31.42
It also seems that they pushed us version MY24.U29.42 later, and it might have still been stable.

Few dealerships might have the option to restore it to the original factory settings.
I’m going to try it out.
Since they pushed us the U29.44 it all went downhill.
But they will force those crappy updates they did once their system detects your radio is “outdated”, or I think so. They need to stop forcing unwanted updates and keep messing with every “update”. Can we do something legally against RAM or whoever is behind this? Seriously, I’m tired of this POS!

Ram is only worried about their new upcoming vehicles. We are not priority and this sucks.

I have not seen any over-the-air update change to my truck, a 24 final edition, that I paid big bucks for, and I have to look at rho graphics on the screen, and all the gauges are screwed up too. Nothing has changed for me, I have the same crappy screen that Ram screwed up...

No change, nothing different, or h o graphics on my 24 final Edition TRX that I paid big bucks for, did I say that? Is anyone listening? Nope they're not cuz they don't care. They just string us along.

I think we should all take our cars to the dealership show them the wrong graphics, and complain. I know what they will do, if you're under warranty they will order a new head unit. That'll cost Ram a lot of money if everyone who's still under warranty does that. Then maybe they'll fix this freaking mess that they caused. The only thing they're going to understand is money, money, money. They don't give a rip about us

@RamCares... you need to change your name to...@ramcaresdoesntcareinfactweareloafatyoutrxownersforbelievingwewereEVERgoingtofixthis

Wake up boys and girls, they're never going to fix it, they don't really care, they're going to keep stringing us along on this forum, until we sue their asses or take our trucks into dealer and DEMAND they replace Uconnect screen which will cost them big.

And that's what we need to do, cost them big.

And even if replacing Uconnect doesn't work, which it won't, many dealerships will do that to try to fix the situation.

And it still then costs them big.

Then maybe...just maybe... they'll fix it for Good by hiring some programmers who can speak English and understand Gearheads... where is Tim K. on this issue he's the only one that would actually give a rip.

You might be right though.

We have explained in previous post but are happy to offer another refresher on how the FOTA and AOTA campaigns generally work:

Firmware-over-the-air (FOTA, radio software) is sent over cellular connection to specified vehicles, first in a small launch and then to all vehicles nationally. The FOTA updates will then change the software version, as seen on many screenshots in this thread and others. Once the FOTA is downloaded to your radio, there is no way to pull the update back.

After FOTA takes place, app-over-the-air (AOTA) updates are automatically triggered to re-sync the radio's apps and make sure they are updated appropriately. There are also separate, non-FOTA AOTAs that are released to get corrections to the apps outside of the radio software updates.

Hopefully this helps a bit in explaining the differences many of you are seeing. To reiterate, the AOTA is solely for the graphics concern, we know there are many other items that need to be addressed, and we are aware that since receiving the AOTA, some customers are still experiencing graphics concerns. A fix is imminent, and we will continue to keep the forum update.

@RamCares - Not to be disrespectful, but we need someone higher up to speak with on the malfunctions in the system that RAM and it's team have broken. You are not getting it done. Responding with the usual placating terms of "we are working on it" or "we are aware" has gone on for far too long. How can we get a firm date of having a functioning radio and dash cluster back in these TRX trucks?
