Uconnect update I actually like… so far

Hi everyone,
All over-the-air updates are currently paused. Once we are notified that they will resume, we will let you all know since we are still awaiting the additional fixes from the previous FOTA/AOTA updates.

What's the ETA on our free TRX Stage Kits and extended warrantees for putting up with this disaster for years? ;)

Hi everyone,
We wanted to check in with everyone and let you know that the fixes we are still waiting on, including the correction to the HP in the Performance Pages, will not launch in this calendar year. We realize this is incredibly disappointing news but wanted to make sure everyone was aware that we are still waiting for this launch and know this continues to be an issue.

As always, once we know more, we will share it here.

So what kind of compensation are we going to get for having a screwed up Uconnect system since April?

Most likely waiting for the new 2026 TRX to launch and then hit send to all.
They aren't going to fix anything. The new trucks aren't going to be built with screwed up uconnects. I really don't know why they won't fix it. It takes a matter of hours to fix the programming. They proved that when the jeeps died a month ago. They had the fix out within days. All they have to do is go back to the previous version.

I have said this so many time and even @RamCares quoted me that It was not possible. You can say that to non oriented software developer person, but I know that this solution is 100% viable. They just need to rollback the latest stable version for TRX owners, and stop forcing updates, WE DONT NEED YOUR UNASTABLE UPDATES.

BOOM. I don't understand what their endgame is

Have you heard something from them? 3-4 months to fix a damn graphic png image? Only can say to the new 2026 TRX owners: Good luck! RHO has a bunch of electric issues, uConnect is a mess, clucks, bangs, etc. A weak security system. Would you pay "extra" to get a factory bulletproof security system? I already paid $2500, and I would pay it again and again. Unacceptable the amount of issues in a 100K pickup. So, there is not a FIX to the mess they have done until we file a claim/lawsuit against RAM.

Me too, igla, drone and compustar. Not cheap. Supposedly the next update is just more stupid crap like the propulsion page. They need to make the modes work properly again. Speed the gauges back up so they don't lag. I don't have to tell you. You know all the problems. I work on this stuff for living. I hooked mine up and it shows an update to cure a bunch of problems in Uconnect but I'm afraid to pull the trigger to see what it does. I'm afraid it'll make it worse. I can't believe there's not a class action lawsuit yet. I wouldn't know how to start one but I'd love to.

You worked hard, paid a non-cheap pickup just for all the fun, everything is working perfect, every option, no lagging, very responsive ...and one day some random "developers" forget to test the release version that they will send out, and boom! Almost everyone has a garbage screen messing a lot of things in the truck (people having resets, black screens, a lot of options gone) and all the fun gone because they CANT rollback their mess. Is this serious? This thread started back in April 2025, lets hope by 2050 it is closed.

FYI:
Yes, there are active class-action lawsuits and investigations against Stellantis (FCA) regarding widespread Uconnect infotainment system issues, including freezing screens, GPS failures, Bluetooth problems, and backup camera malfunctions, affecting various Ram, Jeep, Dodge, and Chrysler models, with cases filed in 2024 naming specific vehicles and seeking damages for alleged defects that create safety risks.
Key Details of the Lawsuits
  • Parties Involved: Law firms like Wolf Popper LLP and Ahdoot & Wolfson are pursuing cases against FCA US, LLC (Stellantis).
  • Allegations: The suits claim a common defect causes infotainment systems to freeze, reset, go blank, and fail to work as promised, impacting navigation, audio, Bluetooth, and backup camera displays, which can distract drivers.
  • Affected Vehicles: While specific models vary, the cases cover certain Ram, Jeep, Dodge, and Chrysler vehicles, including those with the Uconnect 5 system, from recent model years.
  • Legal Status: As of late 2024, amended complaints were filed, and cases were proceeding, with courts allowing some claims to move forward, notes Wolf Popper LLP and ClassAction.org.
What This Means for TRX Owners
  • Inclusion: Ram TRX owners are likely included or could be, as the lawsuits target various Ram trucks with these Uconnect issues, says this article on Stellantis and Wolf Popper.
  • Safety Concerns: The potential failure of critical safety features like backup cameras is a central point of the litigation, states this report from Ahdoot & Wolfson.
You can find more information on sites like TopClassActions.com and ClassAction.org for updates on specific cases like McNeely et al v. FCA US, LLC.

So, they are already busy....

One day my radio will buzz at me and need a reset, next screen is jumping and need to go to climate page so it stops, and it cuts out while using carplay. Just waiting for the next glitch to pop up. Great truck, but man its annoying after so many months with no update available.

This is what I’m talking about… thanks for sharing how painful is the mess they have done.

I had the same issue along with many other people in this thread. I had my local CDJR service department take a look after I brought it in for an unrelated rust issue (in Phoenix! due to a bad stamp job on my roof) and they claimed they couldn't even run a diag on Unconnect due to hardware errors. I have no way of verifying that, however.

They then asked if I had a supplemental warranty as my 2 year warranty had lapsed about 10 days prior. Since I did not, the cost was going to be $1500 to replace the unit that had been compromised by the faulty updates at no fault of my own.

The local CDJR was able to extend a goodwill offer of about $300 dollars to replace. Because the truck was essentially undriveable due to the infotainment glitches I agreed and had it replaced.

The build version the new unit came with appears to be the same as my old unit: FCA-MY24.U35.26-PROD. While the glitches have disappeared for now, it is still not as snappy as it had been in the past.

Having @RamCares insist that updates coming soon would fix it cost me $300 and could have been as much as $1500 or more.

All around, the experience has left a lot to desire and I am not looking forward to a very likely relapse of the issue.

I just searched this exact issue and it took me right to this post. It went from happening once in awhile and now the last 2 weeks it's been about every other time I start it. Had 2 clients in the truck today with only the radio working so had to do the navigation using the phone speaker and had to use the arrow buttons for the HVAC system. CLEARLY 1st world problems but still, it's a little ridiculous and embarrassing not to have basic features available after I just told them how awesome the truck is. Maybe they should just call these latest updates "vintage" since it takes you back 20 years in technology.

Make sure you check out the below post. The more of us that make a report will make the NHSTA crack down on Ram. Stellantis already has a couple Uconnect 5 vehicles with investigations (safety recalls).
