TRX Stolen Dallas area

That's it. Works like a charm. It's on mine right now.
I had the SilverCloud Disk and recently switched to Optimus GV75. I have them installed in all my personal vehicles, kids vehicles as well as my company vehicles. The big selling point for me was the iOS app is handsdown better than the SilverCloud app and not to mention the monthly reoccurring cost is cheaper.

where are they getting this tech? this is rediculous, how are we supposed to protect our investment when it can get stolen in a matter of seconds. There must be something ram can do to stop this
$300 repeater box all u need its all over YouTube and works on any push button vehicles. So get cameras in yalls trx and get 1 that shows driver seat

So the problem with the ravelco device is it’s only as good as the installer installing it.

And if down the line the pins start to wear out. Hopefully it’s on the removable side if not well your going to need to replace or remove it.

Second thing is as a dealer tech stand point. If you come in and I am a mod friendly tech with electrical issues. And I see that device I stop right there. Or I can charge customer pay to verify that device isn’t causing the issues. And customer pay at that point to resolve the issues. As now the electrical system has been messed with.

Those devices require cutting and soldering etc almost have to as if it was plug and play that would defeat the purpose. So I go back to the only as good as the installer. Plus that company may have been in business for a while etc etc. but they aren’t the only ones to go at it like this. Many have come and gone and coming soon.

No matter what you do if a thief has time and really wants it it’s gone. As well as this device unless it interfaces with the abs module and you activate parking brake via radio settings to come on automatically. Will not prevent the neutral rip cord and allow someone to push or pull it away. After all Trx comes with hooks to help them do that. Has been seen many times.

So just for me and this is my opinion that device isn’t any better than anything else out there. I would not want to see some ugly looking receiver plug on my dash. Even those who put it on the headlight switch bezel which is easy to replace. No thank you.

I have done things differently.

Dual function key Kill switch.
After market alarm.
Dash cam that uses cars hot spot to transmit to my Home Nvr so at least I can get some footage if they manage to be able to start it.
Hidden tracker with battery backup. LTE module.
So I am on the defense and offense.

And it sucks this has to be this way. Oem is adding the RFH lockdown flash soon. Which will stop a lot of these from being so easy to steal but won’t stop it completely. Just make it harder for anyone who can buy a 500 dollar lock smith tool.

Having had to repair stolen trucks. Every single one so far was a theft by the Programing method. The repeater attacks are much less likely. As the devices are not guaranteed. And not as easy to obtain.

This all started when oem allowed after market tools to interface with the gateway module. The gateway module is the module present that police’s the communication from the OBD port. Even though it’s easily defeated. That’s when the thefts sky rocketed. Because the code algorithm was discovered and now the module is pointless.

Am I going nuts trying to keep my truck put yes. Why cause my truck is stock now but in a short time it will have many upgrades almost a complete revamp.

You have a good plan going.
I installed the ravelco and tried installing a chock sensor yesterday, issue is the shop I had it at said the sensor they had needed a 12v source and the trucks module oscilates between 8-12v so they were going to look for an option for me this coming week and call me to bring it back.

They said they could get me something more sofisticated if I wanted with surround monitoring but I don't want to carry another key remote. I have a Faraday pouch hooked to this Ravelco plug already. This is getting ridiculous. Thought a shock sensor would be enough to make things a bit harder if they hit tge windo but who knows.
I would never park it at airports but like you feel I will eventually mod this truck adding $$$ so I'm not planning on replacing it with insurance and losing the mods.
What alarm system did you get?

2021 Launch Edition Stolen today 1/7/22 around 3:30pm from Home Depot parking lot on Inwood and Lemmon.....
Plate PJB9620
I saw a launch with rack mobbin down 287 towards fr worth that around then, theives suck

No, The cops rolled into a hospital parking garage where they were stashing the truck about 1 min behind and they were gone. They did get hospital video of them and video from gas station across the street. Probably that was the extent of it.
I'm a police officer. A lot of times the thieves will stash the vehicle and let it there for a few days to see if its being tracked by GPS. If not being tracked, they come back for it.

Howdy,

What type of setup do you run for a dash cam?

Kind Regards

I am looking to help the TRX fam by creating a Neutral bypass strap cover. I have created them for the Challenger, Charger and 300. I do not have access to a TRX so if someone could send me measurements of the release latch and some photos I will make a prototype and put them into production. See my work here www.destroyer1320.com

I'm pretty sure in rural Alabama, if somebody breaks into my house I can shoot them and the sheriff will pat me on the back and say good job. But I'm not sure I can do that if they're in my yard stealing my truck. I would probably go to jail and lose everything I own if I even brandished a gun outside, unless I can somehow argue I feared for my life.
Important words: “this is a very powerful truck, I was concerned that while they were stealing it, they would drive over me or another innocent bystander, hence according to the laws of Alabama, I was justified because I had a REASONABLE SUSPICION that the perp would CAUSE GRAVE BODILY HARM TO MYSELF OR OTHERS.” Then STFU and let your lawyer speak.

Get the Uconnect app and pay the monthly. You can track the truck at anytime from your phone. Also start, lock and unlock. Definitely worth the money

you would think shooting a low life stealing your stuff would deserve a medal but instead you go to jail and they go free, unless you aimed well.

If you're in Texas area get the IGLA system. Cost is now $1200 but its worth it. They bust your window out and try to program a new key? Not gonna work. No ugly revelco pins either, its stealth. Push start still works, car/truck isn’t going anywhere. Only way it’s getting stolen is if they bring a tow, and at that point oh well, we buy insurance for a reason. Installed on my hellcat and now my trx
