TRX Stolen Dallas area

Yes, 2 guys drove in on a black yukon and it took 5 minutes for the mother f*&*s to break the glass, start the truck and drive off.... Amazing....
where are they getting this tech? this is rediculous, how are we supposed to protect our investment when it can get stolen in a matter of seconds. There must be something ram can do to stop this

Jeez, really? Is that all it takes is 5 minutes? o_O

I heard about the recall for "Copying" the Fobs but thats insane..

It seems like the window smash and the computer is the new method happening on the hellcats. 3-4 minutes and they are gone. Someone here recently had their redeye stolen this way too I believe

Do you suspect they cloned or copied the FOB?
I would presume so myself. From what I read, they just use an Aftermarket tool with a PC to copy the Fob stuff from the Computer. Could be wrong though lol

Once you're connected to the canbus you can easily add/remove FOBs. A beater $50 laptop, a can interface and a tool to break the window are all that's needed to steal these trucks. The software update that locks the RF Hub (which our "very competent" friends at Stellantis are only offering for Chargers/Challengers - even though the parts are virtually identical!) needs to be applied to lock the hub from adding any additional FOBs which will add more difficulty to stealing these vehicles. At that point, (depending on the hub location) the thieves will need to bring a replacement unlocked RF Hub along to continue stealing vehicles in this manner.

Shit! That's my stomping grounds. There are a few around here they could have picked from. Sorry it was yours, man. Sucks.

As much of a coincidence as anything else I just left my car alarm guy to decide what to use once I get my truck. I never used to care if my Raptor got stolen because I could just get the money from the insurance company and go to the Lot to get another one. Unfortunately with the TRX you’re gonna have to wait another six months and I do not want to do that.

The decision has been made yet but it looks like it’s going to be the viper car alarm with GPS and kill switch

. . . GPS? Do you really want it back?
Pretty much and considering that the average recovery time is 28 minutes, I’ll take it back! It’s too bad any of us even have to think about this, there was a day!

That's terrible, I hope they can recover it relatively unscathed. Can't imagine how pissed you must be.

I've never considered aftermarket anti-theft devices, but I'm starting to feel like I'm going to be paranoid once I get mine in if I don't install something like a kill-switch. As someone else said, it's not the issue of insurance covering the loss, it's the huge headache to get it replaced, and then convincing the insurance to cover a comparable rental for that long.
