RFH Lock now available on TRX trucks

I have a Ravelco. Love it. Other than losing auto start it’s great. Would rather not lose my truck so IMO it’s worth the hassle. I live in NY so it’s cold in am now.
I find it very odd that @RamCares wont simply say if it is available or not. Very odd and indirectly deceptive. It is a direct question and requires a direct answer. Is the RFH lock available for the TRX? Yes or no @RamCares? If it is?? What do we tell out dealership so that they can perform this service?

Wh
I can confirm it is the TSB you linked.
You need to have a working relationship with your service manager & an understanding of part numbers between the vehicles if you want to gain any traction towards having them update the RFH.
The actual RFH update process applies the same way to both Chargers/Challengers as it does to the RAM trucks.
Best of luck finding a dealer to hear & help you out.
What is funny about what you say is that the factory and their engineers say it is not. A TSB will always include the model it applies to. Not only that but if a dealership searches under your VIN it will find TSBs that apply to your vehicle. Not seeing that either one of these scenarios appy to the TRX. But again, it would be so simple for @RamCares to tell us what is what. Odd that they remain silent.

When we came off gun truck missions and had extra time we would go to the bunker and use the internet ect. She was the soldier that was there signing people in/out. I was building my turbo supra and was order Parts and having them shipped a bunch so we started talking. It was just after a buddy got killed and then my first kill. She listened and understood. Hard to find in others these days. Then she was by my side for the rest of the deployment, about 10 months.

you just pull the relay next to it and put it in that spot. There is another thread about it. Car companies use the same relay for multiple things, hi beam, low beam ect.
Thanks to you and your wife for your service! I will extend that same Thanks to the other veterans on here, one and all!

(Although, based on the fact that thieves are coming right to the factory to steal your product, with 7 more taken last night per reports, that this isn’t very high on the “to-do” list)

Good, maybe Ram will actually react now. At the very least they are certainly flirting with a class action suite if this preventable, if not from consumers, insurance agencies.

I didn’t dig too hard, but I’m seeing articles about Cars being stolen from their factories from May of 2021.

I would venture to guess that if they haven’t figured out their vehicles need improvement in security by now, they likely never will.

Trucks have been stolen from SHAP several times this year.

This all makes my head hurt. so is this the same thing as flashing the keys ? and if so will it prevent thefts or not ? the more you read the more confusing it is.

If this isn't the answer I'm getting the Ravelco installed on my way home from Iowa. only dealer with 600 miles of me. the Russian POS is out I don't care if it works or not.

Looks like business as usual from RamCares: Posting something saying “we’ll look into it” and then just never do anything about it.
That’s right…. No replies from them.

Looks good to prospective buyers “hey, they actually listen”, but that’s about all.

They're a social media outreach team, not technical people. All they can do is try to help coordinate parties (you, dealer, Ram).

As of today, there is no RFH lockdown procedure for the TRX. That's directly from a ram manager, who was visiting when i was last at my dealer last and they had a rep there I was lucky enough to speak to. Take that for what you will.

It costs them nothing to do, my guess is that the profit margin on charger/challenger alongside the volume of those vechicles and their theft percentage, warranted the "warranty time $" to be paid to the dealer to flash the cars.

In our case, i think both the volume and theft percentage are much lower, and therefore they dont want to spend the money. Its always bottom line..

Fortunately I don't live in an area where vehicle theft is a big problem Howerver, I am installing seperate ignition and fuel shutoff switches for when the truck is left for a peroid of time such as the airport, etc. It will be a real scavenger hunt to get her running. :ROFLMAO:

Right: but if you say you’re going to do something, do something. I understand we’re not speaking to the engineers, but they must have channels to push things through.

Had mine done a long time ago. I have ALL the faith in my dealer. Is there a way to confirm it was done without going to another dealer, to prove to you guys it can be done? Or that it didn't really get done?
