RAVELCO THREAD

I called Ravelco they and talked to some guy who sounded like he was on his cell phone. He said they would have the installer call me but nothing so far. I also emailed and still haven’t heard from them. Is there any way to put this thing in the center console So it’s outta sight?
For what it is worth, mine is out of site. It is underneath the steering wheel off to the left. It is mounted vertical and there is no issue at all plugging it in by feel, however, if you do not want to plug it in by feel, you can always plug it in before you climb into the truck. It is hidden, out of the way, and in no way any type of hindrance whatsoever, at least for me. I sleep much better now that I have this installed.

That sounds like what I’m looking for. Can you post a pic? when the cap is not on will the truck still crank over?

Have mine in same spot it sounds like. I just plug it in before I jump in.

You cannot start it without it plugged in. And if the truck is running and you pull it out it shuts off immediately

So if the guy gets in wit it to steal the truck she won’t crank over? Just wondering if the dumb ass would just sit there and crank it till the battery dies

It just does nothing, it does not crank over at all. Keep in mind that your locks and everything will work with your fob and the app, however, once you have this installed, with the cap out, you no longer have the ability to use your remote start.

Sounds good. That’s just how I would want it. It sucks the remote start won’t work but I guess you can’t have you cake and eat it too! But I guess if its going to be a real cold day you could leave the cap on.

That is always an option, however, as Murphy’s Law works, that would be the day someone jumps into it, hooks up their laptop, and away they go. I Now have the mindset, that I will never not have it out. My installer told me even to remove it when you are pumping gas. There have been instances that he is aware of that someone jumped into a vehicle from the passenger side while someone was at a pump, and away they went.

So I totally wrestled with the idea of 'In sight' and 'Out'. Finally chose to put mine in sight to hopefully be a bit of a deterrent, anything to keep someone's dirty little fingers out of my truck the better are my thoughts. Installer put mine to the right of the headlight instrument cluster, it almost looks stock. Took the chance and figured if I didn't like it I can always have it moved and just buy a new trim piece. Turns out I like (y)

This is real clean also. Can you get these in black?

I'm sure you could, I think it would depend on the installer.
The basic instal process takes a good 2 hours so I think it would depend on the installers willingness to do the extra work and go through the center console. $$ talks so I'm sure you could work it out.

I installed mine facing down under the front dash and in the beginning it was a pain to connect the plastic piece in.

Hiding it or installing the hub facing away from the seat would add difficulty to a potential theft as the prick would not see the pins.

Overall this Ravelco along with the shock sensor has been the best investment I've made on my truck. Def recommend

No black choice, at least from my installer. thought about taping everything off and spraying black Plasi dip, but then it defeats my deterrent thoughts so I can totally deal with it as is.

Yep like these guys said it won’t do anything if the cap isn’t in. Under the dash where I have mine is alittle annoying but I don’t drive my truck everyday so I don’t mind it, didn’t wanna drill through my dash. I’m sure if it were a daily driver I’d be able to pop it in without looking

If you have a local installer, the IGLA alarm system delivers the same security as Ravelco while giving up nothing. Remote start works as it came from factory and there’s no plug to bother with as it is all electronic. No key fob or anything is required. You can start your vehicle only after pushing a combination of buttons in your interior (that you program yourself), a phone app “key” that disabled the alarm without you doing anything, or attached a postage stamp sized dongle to your keychain.

Best of ALL worlds (provided you can find an installer).

Isn't IGLA a Russian system? Maybe now's not a good time...

Do you happen to know the best place to locate a list of installers? I have been searching the internet and I can't seem to get anything to populate for me.

When I was looking, I reached out to IGLA directly through their site. It took about 72 hours to get a reply. These days, given the European situation, getting a reply could prove problematic as it’s a Russian company.

I always liked the idea of the Ravelco but was hesitant due to losing the remote start.... But I've been seeing too many concerning post, I'm now moving forward and getting one installed. These things are definite targets & just too easy to swipe.

I’m getting igla done next week. Blows every other option out of the water
