Possibly the coolest and easiest dash cam install ever

I had this same issue. I ended up putting my phone in airplane mode and turning the WiFi back on manually. I was then able to connect and stay connected to the camera.
Still at the same point.
I've tried switching on all location access WiFi access WiFi scanning and still to no avail.

Do I need a splitter if installing both the radar and dash cam?

So being as there are 24 pages to this thread, I just wanted to check to see if everybody who has installed the camera system is happy with it?

Happy with mine. Installation was simple.

Happy with mine. Installed this week. Have the rear camera too.

Only two things I would want to change:

1) be able to view the cameras live via the aux in the truck or phone

2) have sentry mode / park Mode to protect the truck when it’s not on.

So if you scroll back a page or so.. I was asking questions about a bullet type mount rear cam.... No one responded, So I hit up FitcamX (which was an exhausting 30+ chat exchange)

As far as I can tell... They only produce 2 different rear cams... The 360 degree swivel mount that comes with our front/rear order... Which I couldn't make work in the spot I picked (the knockout panel on the bumper.. for lowering the spare)
And the other type, which after an exhausting amount of chatting, they finally sent me for $35 (including shipping)

I thought I could mount it in that knockout plate... but it ended up being about 3-4mm's to wide.... So I mounted it under my hitch.

I'm thrilled with the results... You really can't even see it, unless your crouched low near the bumper...

The following pics are:

1. The different style camera from Fitcamx
2. Picture of it mounted.
3. A Screenshot off my iphone, from Viddure..... The SS isn't super clear, but the actual video is crystal clear!

If anyone has any questions on how I ran it.... Hit me up.

It's so much better than my Thinkware rear cam, that was mounted in the rear window.. and was mostly catching my tonneau cover.
Hi there,
Are you still happy with the rear camera you got and mounted under the hitch? I just chatted with Fitcamx and they told me to send my rear in and they would replace it with the one you got. Did the cable you got with your original set work (enough length) or you had to get an extension? I see they sell 6.5ft 8-pin cables on Amazon for $14.

I got rid of mine and changed to the Vantrue N4 pro. 3 cameras and better functionality

Completely happy with it, Yeah I had to buy the extension cable... Works like a champ.

The view it captures from there, is more than 50% more area, than I got with it mounted to rear window.

Well. Installed it months ago. A lady pulled out of a parking lot and hit the side of the trailer I was towing. I figured she would have pulled up and apologized for hitting me. Instead the first thing she had to say when we pulled over was how I planned to pay for her damaged car. I would recommend this to everyone. It absolutely paid for itself today. Protect yourself!

It's great to have the indisputable evidence of the video footage, but she wouldn't have a leg to stand on anyway.
