yepWas that another TRX at the :20 mark?
Definitely loving mine. Over a year and still going strong!Followed this thread and decided to get one. Pretty amazing for the price.
I just dont understand why these car companies can't figure out how to build an app for the cameras that are already included on their vehicles. Sell a subscription service to record over the built in LTE and bam.
Any videos on the rear mount? i've ordered my set and waiting for it to arrive but there are no videos on the rear mount and the manufacturer didnt have much materials on it.Probably but that also increases installation difficulty to the point that most wouldn't be interested. At the end of the day, this company as with any company, wants this to be easy for the end user and as far as the front facing camera is concerned, it really doesn't get any easier than this.
You are on to somethingI just dont understand why these car companies can't figure out how to build an app for the cameras that are already included on their vehicles. Sell a subscription service to record over the built in LTE and bam.
I'm very interested in this, but I had a few questions I was hoping you could help out with.So if you scroll back a page or so.. I was asking questions about a bullet type mount rear cam.... No one responded, So I hit up FitcamX (which was an exhausting 30+ chat exchange)
As far as I can tell... They only produce 2 different rear cams... The 360 degree swivel mount that comes with our front/rear order... Which I couldn't make work in the spot I picked (the knockout panel on the bumper.. for lowering the spare)
And the other type, which after an exhausting amount of chatting, they finally sent me for $35 (including shipping)
I thought I could mount it in that knockout plate... but it ended up being about 3-4mm's to wide.... So I mounted it under my hitch.
I'm thrilled with the results... You really can't even see it, unless your crouched low near the bumper...
The following pics are:
1. The different style camera from Fitcamx
2. Picture of it mounted.
3. A Screenshot off my iphone, from Viddure..... The SS isn't super clear, but the actual video is crystal clear!
If anyone has any questions on how I ran it.... Hit me up.
It's so much better than my Thinkware rear cam, that was mounted in the rear window.. and was mostly catching my tonneau cover.
I just bought an extension cable on Amazon. Link here: CABLE EXTENSIONI'm very interested in this, but I had a few questions I was hoping you could help out with.
Is the "different style camera from Fitcamx" made for exterior use (weatherproofing)?
What method did you use to run the cable into the cab and all the way to the front camera?
Do you have part numbers or links to the items you used, for instance the extended cable and different style camera?
You can still use it but it doesn't fit under the camera. I just rest it against the bottom of itDoes anyone know if this front camera will still allow you to use a Covercraft Sunscreen?
Yes. If you want the sunscreen to fit up flush with the windshield (like before), just snap the internal stiffeners at the center, so you can flex it around the FitcamX. I use my Covercraft every day like this. It actually works out pretty well. Once I put up the sunscreen (and it flexes back in front of the camera), I really don't even need to put down the visors to hold it up. The sunscreen resting against the camera keeps it there.Does anyone know if this front camera will still allow you to use a Covercraft Sunscreen?
installed mine fore 6 months now....front and read cams....great product and most importantly a good application to use
