Dash cams are pretty much a necessity nowadays and with how easy this one installs, the quality of it, and even the price, you should definitely check it out. It's made by a company called FitCamX and while I was searching for a good option for the TRX I came across this one and thought I'd give it a try. I was surprised to find that it has the internals of much more expensive dash cams with the quality to go with it. The install is insanely easy and it looks OEM. I have some day and night time video in the video below so if you're looking for a dash cam for your truck, check this out:

Like others stated - great find. I already purchased the VanTrue N4 front & back but not installed it yet…. I’m thinking of going the FitCamX route sue to the clean look.Dash cams are pretty much a necessity nowadays and with how easy this one installs, the quality of it, and even the price, you should definitely check it out. I assume for our TRX we order the Model B version of the product?
TIA,
Mark
Thanks for the quick reply! Last question - I assume this camera still does not have a parking mode to record while you are not driving, theft attempts at night, etc.?That is correct!
Yea CarPlay messes with the Wi-Fi on your phone if you try to connect to the camera while the radio is on. Just bought another for my 2500 and my wife’s RAV4 from this site. Works well. Really designed for just a Sd card pull I think given the car play annoyance. My only complaint about the system is that it doesn't automatically connect when you get in and turn the truck on. Unless I'm missing something? I have to go into the app, select the cam wifi, and connect. I believe it's due to wireless carplay? Otherwise I'm liking the system and it's OEM design.
No, not an issue. It’s a Y harness, likely user error would be my assumption.I read a review on Amazon, that said it shutdown his video rear-view,, And now he only has analog.
Anyone have this issue?
Nope. I’ve been using mine for pretty close to a year now without any issues.I read a review on Amazon, that said it shutdown his video rear-view,, And now he only has analog.

How is the picture quality? Can you make out plates of vehicles in front of you if needed like if they take off in a hit and run?Nope. I’ve been using mine for pretty close to a year now without any issues.![]()
I made bracket for the camera.
In most cases, yes. At night and at high speeds it might be tough but for the most part it's able to help. How is the picture quality? Can you make out plates of vehicles in front of you if needed like if they take off in a hit and run?
Exfat. Just pop it in, the camera will format it when you are in the setup, but otherwise format to exfat. Have 128gb Samsung evos in mine.Does anyone know what format the sd card needs to be? NTFS, fat32, etc… I am purchasing a larger one and want to make sure it’s formatted correctly.
128gb is max you can do on this unless a new firmware allows for a bigger change
It was fabricated from a shelf from the pic below, cut to size then painted painted. The small C channel and small piece of double side tape worked perfectly.Did you 3D print this or fabricate it out of something existing? If this was something that is easily 3D printed I would love to purchase one from you if that would be a possibility. If not that’s ok I’m just looking for a solution to keep the camera in the middle while not having to worry about the sliding window.
Thank you for the info! Much appreciated. In most cases, yes. At night and at high speeds it might be tough but for the most part it's able to help.
