Possibly the coolest and easiest dash cam install ever

Installed mine over the weekend. Easy install and your video was very informative. Downloaded both apps, but for know the FitCamx app seams to be working just fine.
Thank you for the find and the added sense of protection.
You're very welcome! I'm very happy with mine so I wanted to share it with anyone that has the same truck.

Did anyone ever figure out why the rear view camera shutoff? Also did it get fixed after the install of this?

I finally got mine yesterday. Ordered 1/20. So was just checking before I make time to install it. Thanks!

So here's my story regarding my attempt to order the dashcam through Amazon:

I saw this thread on 1/19 and after looking at the YouTube video posted by HPO, I immediately went to Amazon and placed the order. I received the verification email from the seller, and I provided a photo of my stock rearview mirror as requested by the seller. I received an estimated delivery date rage of 2/3 - 2/10. My wife an I left on 1/28 for a trip to Antarctica and as I didn't have internet access, I was unable to check on the status of the delivery until 2/1. The status showed that the item would be delivered on 2/3. I returned home on Monday, 2/13, and went to our mailbox as soon as we arrived home. Lots of mail, but no package and no delivery slip from USPS. I reached out to the seller via Amazon and the seller sent a reply stating that the package had been delivered by USPS on 2/3. They also provided the tracking number. I went to our post office and they searched for the tracking number. According to the post office, the package was delivered on 2/3. We have a secure, locked mailbox, so it's not possible to steal from it. The postmaster called our mail carrier and he said he had no recollection of delivering the package. So...I went back on Amazon, requested a refund from the seller and then placed another order for the dashcam. After requesting the refund, the seller replied and said that I needed to re-check our mailbox and ask our neighbors of they had received the package. I spoke to my neighbor and he said he hadn't seen or received the item. I also decided to cancel the second order as I thought the post office might actually have it. I cancelled the second order within an hour of placing it. I went back to the post office and asked them to check for the package, which they did. They were unable to locate it and they told me to have the seller file a claim. Well, before I had a chance to contact the seller again, I received this message (via Amazon) from them:

Hello James,
It is a pity that you get full refund by this way.
You did not try to find the package, nor even reached us for better solution.
The delivery is out of our control, but we ususlly are willing to send the item again if it is truly lost.
But we don't appreciate that customer get free item by such manner. Anyway, hope you enjoy it.
Regards,
Nicole

F*** you Nicole and F*** you for insinuating that I had stolen the dashcam. I don't have the f***ing dashcam and I took a lot of time looking for it, to no avail. I really want the dashcam but there is absolutely, [positively NO WAY that I would ever consider spending my money with your F***ing company!

Wow, I wouldn't buy from them either after getting a message like that.

Wow! I have no idea why they would have responded that way. I agree this is a horrible way to interact with your customers, but you wouldn't believe how often what she is insinuating actually does happen on Amazon. Still, that's ridiculous for sure. Sorry that happened but hopefully you actually do end up getting it.

She’s just pissed we shot down her balloon.
Her real name is cum ye young ho.
I was going to post earlier but I got busy and forgot... does anyone really believe her name is actually Nicole??

I never had any issues with that. Only one person here did and I think it was the way his radar detector was hooked up. 🤷‍♂️
That was me and had nothing to do with a radar detector. Mine intermittently shut off the mirror camera. When I removed the dash cam, the problem resolved instantly. Manufacturer thought that it might be the cable and offered to send a new one but I had already returned the unit.

Food for thought. They have already started sending videos and information to local authorities and insurance companies
