"Insanely Fast Raptor R" ?

What a bummer. Also, I know a guy on the inside. He said, unless it’s super hush hush, there is absolutely no plans for a redeye TRX. He also eluded to 2023 being the last year for the hellcat in the truck. He’s a very knowledgeable guy. I hope that’s not the case. Take it for what it’s worth.

Well that sucked.
It pretty much the most minimal effort that they could have done and the still dragged their feet on getting it out. That said, it pretty much exactly what I expected.
 
10 less torque and it makes its peak power at 6650, higher in the RPM range.

It’s a less capable engine from the factory.

It’ll be neck and neck in straight line performance.
We know Ford had a TRX they lined up next to during production so it should be a hair faster, thanks to weight and gearing.

The real question here…. Which engine is easier to turn up and which is more reliable when you do? It’s pretty easy to dial ip to a 6500 redline and with a pulley, injectors and tune…. Grab 900 at the flywheel on a TRX without killing the motor. Will you be able to do the same with the Ford?
 
I feel like Ford just paved the way for Ram to bump the 2023 TRX MSRP big time…as its now $30k cheaper than its closest competitor. Either way, what an underwhelming reveal.
 
I’ll be honest I was expecting much more power and most are happy it isn’t but playing devils advocate 2 more horsepower in a 500 pounds heavier truck….well you don’t really have to be great at math to solve that equation and get the all important power to weight ratio.

Like I said before either Ram knows something about that GT500 platform we don’t know or vice versa.

They couldn’t squeeze out 3 more horsepower ehh. Claiming titles amongst these manufacturing Giants matter so I’m puzzled at the 700 hp mark.

If the Raptor R was 50k with 1500 horsepower I wouldn’t buy. Such a fugly truck.
