Huge difference between “fast” and ”quick”. How “fast” will it be? It will be as fast as 37’s will allow it to be before the governor shuts it down. How quick will it be? Well, for $200k you too can find out…good luck!
I'm guessing it won't be promoted as faster than the lightning, which is listed as having a 4.0 0-60. I'm guessing 4.1 or 4.2 - which is faster than the TRX, but slower than the lightning. If memory serves, RAM advertises 4.5 0-60 which we know is very conservative. My guess is Ford will advertise 3.9 0-60. What that translates to in real world is probably somewhere very close to what stock Rexes can do on their best day. If they’ve got their 10 speed dialed in, 4.10 gears and 760 ponies with a little less weight, it’ll probably get us by a touch assuming drivers are equal (which we know isn’t true cuz after all they’re driving a Ford haha)
. . .everyone smokes their breakfast every now and then.Someone on here guessed it'll have 718hp since its being released on 7/18. For some reason, I think he/she is on to something with that guess!
The allocation based system and allowing dealers to slap ADM's on everything is obnoxious. Local dealer told me they have people standing in line to pay 50k over MSRP on the R. With a quarter of that money, you could leverage the aftermarket and make the TRX a whole different animal....stupid dealer practices makes the R a no go for me.
Agree, it was never the Raptor customer base asking for the V6, it was Ford shifting their focus to eco and now EV. Ram pretty much forced Ford into the R kicking and screaming so I don't have any desire to reward Ford with my business when Ram is offering such a great truck option.I had two raptors. Problem for me is that Ford let Ram come in and kick the shiz out of them in their own sandbox for two years. Raptor owners begged Ford to go back to a v8 from 2017 till now. Deaf ears, and stupid dealer practices makes the R a no go for me.
Exactly my point. Ford would have NEVER put out a V8 if it wasn't for RAM inserting a big TRX suppository in their backdoor.I had two raptors. Same, I loved my 2011 and was indifferent about the 2017.Agree, it was never the Raptor customer base asking for the V6, it was Ford shifting their focus to eco and now EV. I really liked my 2012 Raptor but had no love for my 2020 Raptor because of the engine package. After getting the TRX I then realized other advantages like the much nicer interior and a less busy transmission. Ford should have listened to their customers and stayed with V8 Raptor but they are not listening again with their EV push. The R isn't a sincere effort to make it available to their customer base as only a very few will be able to get one due to limited availability and pricing. Just my opinion.
Ford hates their customers. Ford fan boys suffer from battered women syndrome.Exactly my point. Ford would have NEVER put out a V8 if it wasn't for RAM inserting a big TRX suppository in their backdoor.
Betting against you on that prediction. The ford preview does not use the word power. Not even a hint. They use the word fast. It's clear they only want their boys saying FAST. This isn't their normal best, best, best approach. They will push weight, nimble, quick, speed, they will shove FAST down our throats. I can't see this approach if they brought 800 HP.I think they'll put a smaller pulley on the Raptor R and make it around 800 HP. Be the first 800HP production truck. They have to do something bold since Ram was running around picking on Ford.
It will be 760hp or more and quicker than the TRX 0-60… guaranteed.Betting against you on that prediction. The ford preview does not use the word power. Not even a hint. They use the word fast. Wake and bake!. . .everyone smokes their breakfast every now and then.
It terms of winning mind share they only need to be >702. Anything beyond that is merely academic.I think they'll put a smaller pulley on the Raptor R and make it around 800 HP. Be the first 800HP production truck. They have to do something bold since Ram was running around picking on Ford.
LOL. I had been content with my stock truck, maybe with the R out ill get excited again!I can’t wait to race one so the owner can read my license plate frame….![]()
