i hate to ask because I’m sure it’s a sore subject right now, but how hard was it physically to swap out the bcm?
Actually not that bad at all. Maybe 15 minutes. It’s not exactly comfortable but I could reach everything no problem.i hate to ask because I’m sure it’s a sore subject right now, but how hard was it physically to swap out the bcm?
so meaning the dealer has to program the rf hub to read the 23 bcm?Actually not that bad at all. Maybe 15 minutes. It’s not exactly comfortable but I could reach everything no problem.
Hoping at worst I’d just have to have the dealer to the BCM replacement procedure in the RF hub. But I’m looking into other options.
Maybe. Since the thought of taking my truck to a dealer makes me physically ill, I’m looking into wiTECH and a compatible interface. Maybe “rent” one from Amazon…so meaning the dealer has to program the rf hub to read the 23 bcm?
i almost replied with I didn’t know you could rent tools from amazon, but then it hit meMaybe. Since the thought of taking my truck to a dealer makes me physically ill, I’m looking into wiTECH and a compatible interface. Maybe “rent” one from Amazon…
Yeah, it sucks for sure. Hate that feeling of screwing anything up. Especially on a truck of this caliber and all the money invested so far. But I’m a pretty optimistic and determined guy so I ain’t sweating it. Yet.i almost replied with I didn’t know you could rent tools from amazon, but then it hit me![]()
I truly feel for you right now and think I know how you must feel. When I was doing the interior harnesses for parking sensors I thought I broke a pin on one of the main plugs up under the dash. I immediately got sick to my stomach and stopped all the work and just put the truck back together to make sure it still worked fine.
Good on you for staying positve. Thank god its not your daily huh?Yeah, it sucks for sure. Hate that feeling of screwing anything up. Especially on a truck of this caliber and all the money invested so far. But I’m a pretty optimistic and determined guy so I ain’t sweating it. Yet.
And on the bright side, I do suspect the tile button will work properly once the keys work again. Obviously can’t turn the truck on but when I get in and press the tile button, the starter button picture and text disappears from the cluster. So at least that button is doing something with the cluster when it didn’t before. Progress.
Getting pretty good at it now. Reverting only took me 5 minutes. Right at the crack of dawn in 20 degree temperatures, praying it would make the truck start again. Definitely was very worried I’d have to flatbed the thing outta here.glad you were able to put the original bcm back in and all is good for now
UC5 is betterSurprisingly these two play nice with each other and coordinate perfectly. Almost a shame it’s getting ripped out for UC5 in a couple weeks.
getting a cluster is going to be the hard partAlready got my harness on order... now if i could only find a cluster...
I can follow directions and I know just enough to be dangerous. Jimmy knows…well…everything. lol.Out-fucking-standing. @OnTheReel and @Jimmy07 are the TRX electrical GOATs
Did you try getting a local dealer to order you one? If they aren’t restricted and you don’t mind losing the core charge it should be possible, but I’m curious how they would handle it.Already got my harness on order... now if i could only find a cluster...
Don't forget the canines to actually do it! Well done guys!I can follow directions and I know just enough to be dangerous. Jimmy knows…well…everything. lol.
