I’m sure Jimmy can post a few pics of what we have gotten working

Jimmy and I have been working on getting maps and tiles to show up on his DT with 22BCM.
We are making some progress just to keep you updated .
I’m sure Jimmy can post a few pics of what we have gotten working .
A fair bit to still do but Jimmy has been awesome with this removing ,installing bcm multiple times ,data logging etc .
Thanks Jimmy !!
Will the work you guys are doing allow it work on a 2021 DT, or does the BCM need to be 22 and up?

Not sure yet but would think so.
The issue with this is two canbus boards will be required by the looks of things and a bcm is only like a 100 bucks right now .
I know you have to pay dealer for the flash and stuff on top of that .
But we are thinking of trying to figure out the PRND status display to add some value as even if you change the bcm the non TRX guys will still not see that status show up.

Still weighing the benefits right now.

When you guys think the stuff will be ready to purchase from you guys? I'm looking for a radio module now but not paying them $670+ eBay prices quite yet.

Not for Atleast for a few more weeks as we we still need to sort out other stuff and figure out the best way to bring up the tiles menu and then need to drive for a few days and make sure no issues etc .
Don’t want to rush it out only to brick a truck on the highway .

@Grey03svt and anyone else needing a 2023+ radio for this swap…

Awhile back in this thread Jimmy07 posted that he was able to change the canbus protocol on newer radios from Atlantis High to Powernet so they will work on our trucks. He was using 2025 Ram radios for that.

With his work as inspiration, and a strong hunch that all of these “R1-high” UC5 radio modules carry ALL of the settings and graphics for ALL vehicles regardless of what they came from, I fired up CDA6 and reflashed a WL JGC / Wagoneer radio to Powernet 1.

I first tried it in my UC5 swapped 2018 JGC and it worked exactly like the 2023 Durango receiver I was using in it before. All Jeep graphics and off road pages ported over right away.

Then the bigger deal for us here…I then installed it in my TRX and once it got acclimated everything works exactly like the original TRX receiver. I went through page by page and checked every setting was present and matching the old radio. Maps work too, of course, since all of the WL radios have active Ethernet ports.

This is a big deal because these WL radios are ubiquitous and dirt cheap vs the actual Ram units and they will bolt right in place. I updated the SW to T27.46 and will leave it installed in the TRX for continued testing, but I see no issues thus far.

Still on the fence about this. Being a 21 I would have to buy all the goodies to have full functionality. Really like the maps in the cluster option and the digital dash. Call me a geek but I like the tech lol

What year did this radio come out of ?
Thanks.

Same part is listed for 2022-2024. Even 2022 radios should have functional Ethernet since the FPDM and maps in cluster were options then.

Hey Guys, I am trying to source the digital cluster itself, I have ordered it online with the PN listed in this thread and my order gets cancelled. I have called my local dealerships, which we have wholesale accounts for and they advise me I cannot order this and pick this up they need to do an exchange and their techs need to install it not my shop (Fullblown). Any advice or idea where I can buy the cluster from?

Look for a used on on eBay. You can't buy them new or they will cancel the order every time. I found mine from a 5th gen Facebook group and the guy was local to me.

Next canbus spoofing project maybe? I can hope…View attachment 143265
Yea maybe .I got a passanger screen I will be working next .
Got one from a jeep on my test bench .
The new can structure is way different and so are the can messages .
Jimmy has played more with the new stuff than I .
We actuality just finished more testing for the DT cluster this evening .
I’m sure he can explain what our plan is for the tiles button .
He sent me a video of it in action and seems to be working good .

You might want to ohm out the lvds cable and see if it’s the same pin out as the 12 inch screen setup .
Think it is. Main issue is the CAN-BH vs IHS. I whipped up a little adapter cable just to plug it in and see what happened. I didn’t expect anything and wasn’t disappointed. The hazard button worked but that was it. Radio definitely communicated with the screen to some degree because when I put the 12” back in everything was formatted on the screen as if it was still a 14” installed. Had to unplug the radio to get it back right because it seems these UC5 radios only check screen size once after getting battery power.

Even if we got the screen working the trailer brake and steering would be another hurdle. Honestly I’d probably just blank those off since I don’t tow with this truck.

So you are using the 23 uc5 module and the 14 inch screen ?
