That was what I was thinking. I’m curious if the outer mask or plastic cover pops off or is it glued on?Worst came to worst you could just buy a new mask (lens). No need to replace the whole cluster.

Just unclips. That was what I was thinking. I’m curious if the outer mask or plastic cover pops off or is it glued on?
Awesome thanks! I’m correct in guessing if you buy one and plug it in the mileage and stuff won’t carry will it? Even if it’s a 22 and exactly the sameJust unclips.

Nope. It won’t carry over automatically. You would have to change the mileage with AlfaOBD after install. Don’t think you can change the hours though.Awesome thanks! On the analog clusters, which is what he was asking about. Digital, no.You can change mileage with AlfaOBD?
take pics when you installThe last piece of my puzzle. The cluster-to-radio Ethernet plug didn’t really clip into the radio tightly on its own. Because the plug is supposed to clip into this, and then this thingy latches over the entire radio’s Ethernet block and locks on.

Not an easy part to find new unless you want to buy 1000, unfortunately. But if you happen to pick up a used radio and the salvage yard just cut the wires when removing it, definitely save and reuse this part.
Basically this:take pics when you install
i was curious if you had any issues or were just being proactive. No doubt that vibrating and bouncing around can wear out connections over timeBasically this:View attachment 142418

Much more positive connection. I had an issue last summer with the maps only working sporadically and traced it to the Ethernet connection. It’s pretty easy to come undone even just during installation. I don’t fault the guys making the harness for not including this piece since it’s hard to get. But it helps a lot.
Also, friendly reminder to use the Ethernet port closest to the USB connection on the radio.
So it does matter whereBasically this:View attachment 142418

So it does matter what position the wire is plugged into on the Ethernet block? May I ask why?Basically this:View attachment 142418

When I was screwing around with this I had the cable plugged into the furthest port away from the USB instead, and it simply didn’t work at all. Map just stayed on the loading screen forever. Had to pull everything back apart. Didn’t think it mattered, don’t know why it matters but it did.So it does matter where

Just found this post as I'm going through this exact issue with 68598596AC - no output at all, brand new. What are my options? The reason I ask is, @mac24attack and I both bought brand new 2023 radio modules, both 68598596AC (newest revision), and both built on 3/22/24. Neither of them would fire up the screen, and no other modules on the truck had communication with the radio module.

I hooked them both up on the bench to CDA6, and discovered that the CAN architecture configuration of both of them from the factory were set to Atlantis High, whereas they are supposed to be set to PowerNet I.
Atlantis High is the new CAN architecture for 2025 Ram 1500, and I’m guessing it’s looking to communicate over CAN FD instead of CAN C (powernet I like used on pre-2025 Rams).

I don’t know of any other way to have this changed except CDA6, and I’m stumped on why some 2023 radio modules are built configured this way. If anyone else gets a new radio module that doesn’t fire up the screen, inquire here and don’t return it, because this is probably why.
On another note, the software version that came loaded on these radio modules appears to be a newer 2024MY version:

If you want to send it to me, I can reconfigure it.Just found this post as I'm going through this exact issue with 68598596AC - no output at all, brand new. What are my options?
Hah just messaged you, let's chat thereIf you want to send it to me, I can reconfigure it.
Spill the beans! I'm still in the market for a radio module granted I can call get maps to work without the dealer programmed BCM.Hah just messaged you, let's chat there
Awesome! Waiting patientlyJimmy and I have been working on getting maps and tiles to show up on his DT with 22BCM.
We are making some progress just to keep you updated .
I’m sure Jimmy can post a few pics of what we have gotten working .
A fair bit to still do but Jimmy has been awesome with this removing ,installing bcm multiple times ,data logging etc .
Thanks Jimmy !!
