So I contacted infotainment. They indicated it will work with any Uconnect 5 radios. But they will not part out their kit, which the OBD Genie programs the maps to work.

I contacted OBD Genie and they will be offering the map programmer in February. They sent me an invoice to purchase it right now for $199. They also indicated it will work with Uconnect 5 radios.

This was all through chat so I want to confirm this with an actual tech. They didn't have anyone available when I called so I'm waiting for a call back. Keep you guys posted!

I can guarantee you it needs to be a 23 radio module and a 23 bcm .

Will do, I'm sure the people on the chat were just looking at the items listed kit. But still I read everything in their instructions and nothing indicates a new 23+ module. But again will confirm

Just so you know, genies do the same thing as alfaobd, except they’re designed for single settings (or groups of settings associated with a feature). In this case, the map genie is just changing CustSetMenu 3: Nav Map In Cluster to Yes.
My best guess is, they only tested this on a 2023 DT 1500, and are not yet aware of things that will not work (or extra things needed) on 2019-2022 1500’s.

My best guess is, they only tested this on a 2023 DT 1500, and are not yet aware of things that will not work (or extra things needed) on 2019-2022 1500’s.

I figured as much. But as they advertise it as it will work in any 2019-2024, and maps to work only with uconnect 5. False advertising if they say it will without confirming it. I'm definitely going to grill them on it.

Everything else will work with the digital cluster and UC4 because that’s how mine started. But I can 100% guarantee maps and album art don’t work with UC4 for the same reason they don’t work with the 2022 UC5 radio. No Ethernet. On UC4 radios the ports simply don’t exist, and on 2022 UC5 they are inactive (and apparently can’t be made active via software update or programming).

This is all saying nothing of the fact that the proper messages didn’t transmit in my 2021 BCM or Jimmy’s 2022 unit either. They should probably read this thread before taking someone for a $3,000 ride. No reason anyone else has to learn the hard way what we already figured out over a year ago…

I already have the display in and working for quite a while now, but held off on BCM and radio module. If I can get things to work with the CAN module @skuppy069 posted about then I'm in for that instead of a BCM from the dealer

Anyone going to try that mod? Even a possibility?

I will not say absolutely no because it’s amazing what some of these guys figure out, but the 2025 is on a completely different electrical architecture so chances are it won’t work.

Just realized now that everything seems to be working properly that you definitely do not need to swap the steering wheel button unless you want the right icon.

Just want to re-verify something real quick:
You still have the original switch, correct?
And when you press the center VR button, only the tiles come up, and not the ram assistant simultaneously?
And when you press the green phone button, the ram assistant comes up on short press, and Siri on long press?

yes, I plan to drive the Truck tomorrow and will confirm the function of the green phone button, but I can confirm right now that when I press the VR button only the tiles come up.

I have the same set up and can corroborate @Quietpeen 's experience. The green phone pulls up ram assistant for the short press, have not tried a long press and I have an android so probably won't pull up Siri for me. I'll try a long press tomorrow and see what happens

I’ve got a stupid question. I’ve got a ‘22 and my cluster has a scuff on the display. It’s on the plastic if that makes sense. Can you buy a used cluster from a ‘22 and plug it directly in? I didn’t know if mileage had the programmed or how much a headache it would be.

Mine was trashed and I used headlight restoration kit with different grit pads. Came out like glass. Mine was surface scratches, no gouges.

Nah it's super easy. Few screws, couple scary pulls on the trim and you good. Maybe 10mins tops to pull it out

Worst came to worst you could just buy a new mask (lens). No need to replace the whole cluster.
