2023+ digital cluster swap (COMPLETE WRITE UP)

This is similar to what @skuppy069 is talking about, instead of a new BCM (the 2023+ radio module is still required for maps in the cluster):

It integrates with the cluster conversion harness. We’ve been working together for a while on projects because we retrofit all these features into our 4th gen trucks, so this is what he came up with to get the cluster working on my heavy duty ram.

Wait, is this something that will work on the 5th gens too!? If so sign me up. No BCM and now dealer visit I'm in!!

It’s Meant for 5th gens mostly but I wanted this mod so I added a bunch of stuff for my 18 bcm .
Yep Jimmy and I have been working on this stuff for a few years now .

The TRX’s don’t have that problem when doing the digital cluster swap.
It’s something with a missing TCM message on the regular 1500’s.
Yours is one I haven’t seen before though- it looks like you are in drive, but the trans status is still showing “- -“.
Usually it will show “D” when it’s in drive, but
“- -“ when it’s in park, reverse, or neutral.

I could fix that with a TCM flash, but I would have to lower the shift points of an SRT TCM.

This is like the last piece I need to complete the "Full" 12" digital instrument cluster version to get maps in the cluster and what not. I just bought a BCM coincidentally last week off of ebay for like $85. (They are much cheaper now then when this mod first appeared) I would much rather go the CAN bus route than the BCM route to avoid the trip to the dealer.

BTW, looks like Infotainment has figured out mileage correction and maps in cluster w/o trip to the dealership. Their 12” instrument cluster upgrade package is live.

Probably for 23 trucks for sure just a programmer as the bcm has the required points in it .

Also wonder what the work-around is to get the 2022 radio to send maps over Ethernet. Has anyone tried flashing 2023+ software to a 2022 radio to see if that does it? I have T27.46 (2023 MY) software running on a 2021 Durango radio in my JGC without issue, so I don’t think these modules are picky in what model year software you feed them. Just can’t go backwards.

I’m in for about 1K cad about 200 hours of R&D lol .
Mind you the DJ trucks we had a lot more to do to get it working .

I bet. Really cool that you got it working though. The most R&D I did was comparing 2022 and 2023 TRX backups, finding the differences and then changing random sections in my truck until my tile button worked correctly without triggering VR too. Once I got lucky I had to ask Jimmy what I actually changed to make it work.

So I contacted infotainment. They indicated it will work with any Uconnect 5 radios. But they will not part out their kit, which the OBD Genie programs the maps to work.

I contacted OBD Genie and they will be offering the map programmer in February. They sent me an invoice to purchase it right now for $199. They also indicated it will work with Uconnect 5 radios.

This was all through chat so I want to confirm this with an actual tech. They didn't have anyone available when I called so I'm waiting for a call back. Keep you guys posted!
