2023+ digital cluster swap (COMPLETE WRITE UP)

Saw this on facebook today. What’s this about? View attachment 137049
They’re kind of like infotainment- where they supply everything including the programming (like infotainments genie, which makes the bcm changes for a specific feature without having to use alfaobd).
That kit is for the HD Rams, and the difference in installing the digital cluster in a pre-2023 HD Ram vs the 1500 is getting the old style left steering wheel buttons to interface with the digital cluster. That’s why you see that module with wiring in the listing on the left for 2019-2022 HD Rams.

Those guys are working on mileage correction for these as well. Didn’t have a timeline when I talked to them but I’m hoping sooner or later they get it figured out.

maybe I’m just overthinking it, but is there any worry with the latest recall? Especially for us that not only have modified our trucks with custom settings via AlfaOBD, but also have a BCM that doesn’t even match our trucks?

Nope. It’s just a flash to the abs module. I already applied it on my own to my truck.

Any updates on mileage correction and DIY BCM swap?

so odd thought I had. All this testing still seems to add up to still needing the 23 bcm to get the customized cards and navigation. If one was to get a 24 bcm instead of a 23 wouldn’t they be able to enable the customized “Final Edition” graphics in the cluster?
Potential “Final Edition” splash screen. Change these two values in line item 620123 of the backup file to 97, and restore with the new edited backup file:

Unfortunately that was a no-go. It actually just eliminated the splash screen altogether. Gauges boot up to a completely black screen until the dials pop up. The TRX badge also disappeared from the center even though it’s turned on.

Not something I care to pursue but it would be interesting to see if someone having a 2024 cluster and/or BCM would have better luck.

Ok. On my 2022 bench BCM, it’s broadcasting 97, so looks like it’s not the model year BCM, but that the 2023 cluster doesn’t know what it is.

Hi all, any updates on mileage correction? i didnt see anything on the ddoffroad.com site, but maybe someone has heard elsewhere?

Or what does the dealership read? the new dash is like 6k, but old dash was around 12k when it was last in the shop. Just dont want them to flag anything that might mess with my warranty (i'm still well under 3yr/36k either way)

Nothing as far as I’ve seen. Wasn’t in the latest AlfaOBD update. JScan hasn’t added it either. Best thing to do is swap the analog cluster back in and update the mileage on that via AlfaOBD. Or just avoid the dealer as I have been doing.

Ok thanks! was worth asking. I can't avoid them unfortunately as she needs some warranty work (driveshaft clunk, suspension thud, evap codes). Would it be an issue if i didn't update the mileage in the old cluster? (I don't have AlfaOBD but can get it, not sure if there's a writeup on how to mod the mileage somewhere?)

I highly doubt they would dig deep enough to see but it is theoretically possible for the dealer to check the mileage displayed vs what the PCM stores from the wheel speed sensors.

It’s pretty simple to change the mileage. I’m sure there are YouTube videos but the jist of it is connecting to the instrument panel (instead of the BCM as most people do for making configuration changes). Then click the car logo, scroll through the dropdown menu until you see odometer correction and then enter the new mileage (in KM so you will have to convert it from miles).

Does anyone have a digital cluster they’re selling or any leads to where I can get one besides the dealer?
