2023+ digital cluster swap (COMPLETE WRITE UP)

Does anyone know the difference between part # 56029968AF and 56029964AF? The latter appears to be for a 23'-24' and the other for a 22' only. Does it matter which one is used?
Either one will work. Another guy here is using a 2023 radio with a 2022 CVPM.

That said, the 2023+ CVPM supports Parksense activated cameras (when the front parking sensors alert, it automatically pulls the cameras up). This would still need to be enabled in the manner I described in the main post.

The shifter needs to be in the left "manual" position
@SquirrelMaster, if you have your HUD set to the performance display and shift into manual mode, do you get shift lights in the HUD too? Trying to figure out what this hieroglyph is

I dunno shit anymore but it looks a lot like what the manual says the cluster should look like. (Note: they mixed up sport and Baja images).

Mine didn't do shit all the way to recline. I wonder if it's connected to the shift bubbles
I’m sure it’s all related. The HUD is driven by the cluster. What I don’t know yet is what we are missing here. Every remotely related module on my truck is 2023 and I don’t see any other settings that might fix it.

Thanks for the response. Looks like I'll be ordering the 2023 CVPM.

Not sure if you already have a 2022, but I can confirm that on the HD Rams, the 2022 CVPM is capable of front park assist activated camera. So, if you do have a 2022, I’d try that first, but if you got a 2021, just go with the 2023 CVPM.

Got a 21 1500 Laramie so the 2023 CVPM it is. Was trying to search for a used one for over a month but it seems like all the junkyards don’t know how to list them, don’t even know what is the CVPM, or even where it would be located for that matter. So just brought new from BAM.

So I had an issue with the Maps not loading in the Cluster, I bought another Cluster to try and troubleshoot but still no Maps in Cluster. When I was attempting to program my surround camera new 2023 Module, and use an Autel 12+8 Cable thingy. I unplugged the wiring going into the security gateway module that had a 4d tech auto start stop bypass and when I unplugged that and just so happened to glance at the Cluster my Maps were working as they should. Maybe this could help someone having same issue in the future.

first, how did you find another cluster so easily? I’m sure you could sell it really quick here.
second glad you figured it out.

I do need to sell one of the two. So I have a Limited and I guess depending on the BCM settings it automatically tells the Cluster what your Truck is. TRX is how the Cluster was sold but picked up I have a Limited. So they all seem to be interchangeable between models of Trucks. I was the first to do the Mustang Digital Cluster and have it all working. For that you had to change the firmware for the 180mph speedo and also had to adjust all the settings in the Cluster depending on what options your Mustang had. These Ram ones just pick up all the features which is alot nicer and easier on the installer.

from what onthereel said it appears all the digital clusters for the 1500 are basically the same. The difference is in the plastic trim for the different models so you can just swap the correct one on if it’s the incorrect one. I got lucky enough to find one that was the proper trim for a trx.

OK, update I guess I posted to soon. I went to pick up food and Maps would not Load again. As soon as I unplugged the wires from the Security Gateway Module and plugged the wiring into that 12+8 cable Maps populated again. So maybe the Security Module needs updated to 2023 any ideas?

The SGW module has the same PN for all years. Personally use a Tazer in my truck instead. I never actually ran this cluster with the stock SGW module but I can try it later and see what it does.
