Sending PMService mode, good to know. I'll check my box to see how to do that. Thanks for the heads up dude

Nice!!! You do BCM too??View attachment 124402
Ya boi leveled up! Still on the 22 radio so no maps but working on a 23 radio to complete the migration.
welcome to the clubView attachment 124402

Sorry, not yet, I see how that was confusing. I just started down the path lol. BCM will probably be the last addition for me.Nice!!! You do BCM too??
Oooh I thought the radio gave you maps and the bcm did tiles. Thanks for the SA!No reason to do the 2023 radio without doing the BCM. To get maps in the cluster you need both.
On the flip side, if you do the BCM first you can at least get the custom tiles working, and then swap the radio whenever for the maps.
Yeah, unfortunately the 2022 and older BCMs don’t broadcast the settings to generate the map page (or tiles) in the cluster. I tried my 2021 and Jimmy tried his 2022 BCM. No joy.Oooh I thought the radio gave you maps and the bcm did tiles. Thanks for the SA!
Just to confirm before I commit to the 2023 radio, have we tried the combo of an ethernet connected 2022 with a 2023 BCM and that does not give us the map in the cluster correct?Yeah, unfortunately the 2022 and older BCMs don’t broadcast the settings to generate the map page (or tiles) in the cluster. 2022 UC5 radio’s Ethernet port is definitely inactive.Just to confirm before I commit to the 2023 radio, have we tried the combo of an ethernet connected 2022 with a 2023 BCM and that does not give us the map in the cluster correct?
Haha so all the time I took removing the radio module and finding the right ethernet port was for nought huh lol. Fair enough, that answers that! Thanks Jimmy2022 UC5 radio’s Ethernet port is definitely inactive.
No - standard ethernet (IEEE 802.3) can't run on only two wires... gotta be 4 (TX+, TX-, RX+, RX-) - discounting any of the older coax implementations... just talking current twisted-pair versions. It's probably some sort of serial bus (like CAN, or USB). With just two wires, only half-duplex communication is possible (you can talk, or listen - but can't do both at the same time).Hey @Jimmy07 ,
Those "Ethernet" connections; are they actually some form of a standard Ethernet running over the two wires or is it some other actual specification?
Assuming a differential signaling, yes. With just two wires, only half-duplex communication is possible (you can talk, or listen - but can't do both at the same time).
Fo I need ro her surfshark vpn for my radio to cluster traffic?Well, damn... learned something new today:
"IEEE 802.3 standardized 1000BASE-T1 in IEEE Std 802.3bp-2016.[12] It defines Gigabit Ethernet over a single twisted pair for automotive and industrial applications. It includes cable specifications for 15 meters (type A) or 40 meters (type B) reach. The transmission is done using PAM-3 at 750 MBd."
So, there it is... I guess it really is ethernet. Cool - wonder if UC5 can run Wireshark![]()
Also, what document did this come from? Looks like an interesting readAll I know is that Stellantis definitely believes it’s Ethernet…View attachment 124421View attachment 124420
I don’t see why the cluster would need to talk to the radio via this line, the radio just needs to send the map (and album art) to the cluster through it.
I can also add to this that a 2023 radio will not broadcast the maps to the digital cluster without the 2023 bcm.Just to confirm before I commit to the 2023 radio, have we tried the combo of an ethernet connected 2022 with a 2023 BCM and that does not give us the map in the cluster correct?
Yall the best, thanks for the SAI can also add to this that a 2023 radio will not broadcast the maps to the digital cluster without the 2023 bcm.
