If you plant on purchasing one I would get on it. I still get promotional emails from when I got my quotes.
Supposedly there will be price increase on Mopar extended warranty on July 1st 2023.

Best price I got was Granger Motors at $50 over cost.
Damn dude, thanks for the nuggets-up!

I also have been on the fence about getting one or not, after a long thought it would be my luck that something would go wrong and I would have to pay out of pocket, I just got an extended warranty good for an extra 5 years and 100,001 miles for 149 bucks for the first 28 months and the next 32 months are payment free. It is about 4k cheaper than the Mopar and it covers everything like it is a brand-new vehicle.

My concern with Mopar extended is doing something or not doing something unknowingly that voids it. For example, guy on FB group said he went 400 mi over an oil change on a Challenger & that voided the warranty for a cylinder misfire.

What if you don't follow all that recommended maint nonsense like changing every fluid in the truck every x miles, will that void it? There's always a catch.

That's another reason I didn't go with them , hopefully they will do the work and not report any mods since they are another company and they are being paid from them to do the work.

Who did you go with?

I contacted a dealer on this forum that sells Mopar warranties for nearly cost and was surprised how expensive a Mopar warranty is: I was quoted nearly $7.3k for 8 years 125k miles at a $200 deductible and 0$ deductible for 8 years and 125k miles for $13.5k. I am all for OEM warranties, but that seems excessively high. I thought these power trains should age well with proper maintenance lol?

I understand the performance difference between a TRX and Raptor, but my Gen 3 Raptor extended warranty through Flood Ford (OEM warranty) for 10 years 175k miles with $0 deductible was $6515.

Yes, thats insane. Fortunately for me, I'll be using mine < 3k per yr, so the $2700 option would work for me. Still on the fence tho.

I got a 3rd party warranty. It doesn’t matter in the end, they all try to F you the same, Mopar genuine or 3rd party. I read the small print on the one I got and I felt it covered more than the Mopar at a fraction of the cost. But it doesn’t matter, they will fight all the same on coverage and it will be the same battle.

If you get an extended warranty for $5K or less it's worth it all day long. Tail lights are $1500cdn a piece, front headlights $2500cdn a piece and if your front CV shafts seize up (which is a known issue in our trucks) and destroys your front diff that repair bill is closer to $8-$10K cdn. Guess what I'm buying next week.

Not so sure about those lights. From mopar maxcare:

Also, I know some people had a problem with water leaking in around the rear window. Well guess what:

Interestingly the finance person at Granger that I worked with wouldn’t sell me the Mopar warranty. He told me he wouldn’t sell that to his grandmother because it is terrible. He would only offer me a warranty from Ethos. He indicated it is honored everywhere and if I would have a problem using it just to call them. I believe he was being sincere.
This is totally ass backwards... Granger sells the MOPAR extended warranty at $50 over invoice (less then the $100 over invoice you paid from Zeigler) and @Zach@Granger has been a big proponent of pushing the MOPAR extended warranty as they have the best price around. My guess is the finance guy was trying to get a bigger kick back on a non-OEM warranty sale, which is unfortunate because the Granger process has been my best car buying experience ever.

4100.00 I'm covered until 2028 or 100,001 miles.i made a great choice , thanks I feel better now.

I had a max care extended warranty on my Hellcat and easily all my total repairs cost more than the warranty itself.
I'm sure it did, and I'm sure you can provide more examples of where it worked out. I know of people who say they made money in Vegas too.

I can’t think of a worse comparison you could have made.
It's a numbers/odds thing. "Most" of the the time warranties do not pay for themselves. If they did, companies would not sell them. Yes, a warranty could save you a lot of money. Yes, you could make some money in Vegas. Odds are however, you will not. No one on the internet is going to come on here and brag about all the warranties they bought that they didn't need.

Not sure of your point. You are classifying a warranty purchase as just another discretionary purchase that you are losing money on anyway? Sure, you can do that.

My only point was if warranties were worth it companies would not be selling them. The "only" way for companies to make money on them is if they are not worth it to "most" people. No "complicated actuarial analysis" necessary.

I've never purchased a warranty in my entire life and "maybe" an AMG I had would have worked out but it was close. Peace of mind maybe??? Shoot, put the warranty money in a savings account in case you need it and at least at the end of the period its still your money. Multiply that by how many cars you will have in your lifetime and . . .

I had the LED bar go out (can't replace just the bar, the whole assembly is required as per RAM, FCA, Stelantis the boogie man or whoever) on the P/S headlight and my dealer said no problem and new one will be ordered and replaced under warranty. As for the tail light my father in-law cracked on me I had to eat that one so I bought aftermarket smoked out ones for $1,100 for the pair instead of $1,500 for one OEM replacement. I had water I'm my 3rd brake light and my 3 hood scoop marker lights, all replaced under warranty. My dealer is awesome:D

That's all under the factory warranty (not the extended warranty), right?

Yes, I should have clarified that, sorry. The extended warranty I was offered by my sales rep at the dealer also stated all those items are covered too. I'd basically be getting a full bumper to bumper and full power train warranty 5yr/ 100,000km for $4145 CDN or 7yr/ 140,000km for $5,145CDN. The only thing he couldn't add was oil change and tire rotation package like it was offered new.
