What's your thoughts on getting the extended warranty?

Agreed. Dont pay for coverage that runs concurrent with the normal warranty.
As the 3 year point approaches, start shopping. The only caveat is they might ding you for higher mileage at the 2.5 mark, but it would be worth the difference in $$$ to me.

I am going to get that there long term coverage for my truck.....
That way when I drive it into 5 feet of water and flood the engine............
Or install a pully and get a tune that dumps tons of fuel into the oil...............

Actually, I believe the prices increase once you exceed 12,000 miles. Then the prices go up more at 24,000 miles. And you can't buy it at all after 36,000 miles.
The other thing I suggest is that you read the exclusions. There are a lot of them. It is NOT like a bumper-to-bumper warranty.

Only vehicle I've bought a extended warranty for. I was a mechanic for 18 years. Lots of pricey parts on these trucks. 10 year 100k Bumper to Bumper with zero deductible. $4100 in Montana.

Sounds like a 3rd party plan, IMO Mopar Maximum Care is the only warranty to even consider. I'd recommend looking at cancelling and buying the 1st party factory backed extended (service contract) warranty.

There are benefits to having MaxCare prior to the expiration of your factory warranty. Guaranteed 1st day loaner and up to 5 day rental reimbursement for covered repairs even if your dealership doesn't provide it, 3 Fob replacements/reprogramming up to $600 value, and tow/roadside assistance/trip interruption coverage. That on top of the increases at 12k/24k miles is just something to think about when considering adding the plan prior to expiration.

Yes. Lithia Auto Group. They are my dealer. In partnership with Zurich. Also have lifetime oil changes. Up to 4 a year regardless of mileage. Getting one today at just over 1k miles. Every 3 to 5k after that. They threw in the oil changes and bought truck at invoice.

I just went to one of the sites that will quote the Mopar plan (ChryslerFactoryPlans) and got a couple of example quotes. I entered a 2022 TRX with mileage and quotes as follows (for an 8 year, 100k mile, $200 deductible plan):
10,000 miles: $5,625
16,000 miles: $6,405
28,000 miles: $7,440
40,000 miles: $7,310
The last one is a little different, because it's outside of the factory warranty already. So you have to pick how many years you want from the date you buy the plan, not the in-service date (I chose the max of 5 years), and how many miles you want from the date you buy the plan (I chose 60,000).

Based on these examples, you can see that the plan gets more expensive as the mileage goes up.

I ran one more just for you, @HeliPilot. A 2021 TRX with 50,000 miles. To get 5 years and 60,000 miles (from the date you buy the plan), it is $7,600. So I was wrong - you CAN buy the Mopar plan after the factory warranty is gone.

I had the 8year 100K for our raptor. At the time the warranty was around 1,500.
The sunroof issues alone covered the cost of the plan. We also got the the number of months we "didnt use" back as a credit when we sold the truck.
We received a 2 year extended warranty due to an issue from ram. Unsure if we will extend further, the prices have gone up allot.

Mark Dodge matched the $50 above cost for me when I picked up my TRX. I paid $3500 for 8 years and 60k miles. I have horrible luck and need extended warranties.

I'll definitely be purchasing one when the time comes. The only extended warranty I've ever purchased so far has been wheel and road hazard coverage from Mopar. If I remember correctly it was $450 for 5 years of coverage. Basically, they would fix curb rash, and replace tires, or entire wheels. It paid off when I hit a pothole in my WB Scat bent a wheel, and took a chunk out of my tire. They gave me a new wheel and tire at the dealer no questions asked.

My thoughts exactly. I've had my 04 Ram 1500 for almost 15 years now and put on 130k miles. I will be getting an extended warranty once I get my 23.

I will second that opinion on this truck. I will keep this truck, basically, forever. I still own, drive and maintain my 2005 Yukon SS2 (454 engine) in it and bought an extended warranty and I used it a few times. I will buy one on my 2023 as well. I will get it closer to the end of the original warranty. That way I can get more of the extended warranty period.

I.E. if you buy an 8 year/100,000 mile contract the day you buy the car it lasts for the full 8 years and 100,000 miles, if you buy that same warranty just before you hit 3 years and 36,000 miles (the end of your factory warranty) it will only last for 5 more years and 64,000 miles but it will cost more than it did when your truck was under 12k or 24k miles not counting any price increases during that time you waited. The only reason I'd wait is if you aren't sure you are going to keep it but even then you would be able to get a pro-rated refund on the remaining warranty.

Yes I mentioned that in another post but that's also not Maximum Care it's the Mopar Vehicle Protection Extended plan.

Also to consider too: for those of us with AAA or other roadside assistance programs through insurance- these will cover towing, rental vehicles, and some of the other ancillary things
