VON Tracking & RAM Status Codes

A rep stated that 01 means customer sold, and that 99 is dealer ordered.

I know they're giving out canned scripted responses but they should at least be able to confirm your order. Sorry you're having a tough time.

Not having tough time. Just trying to understand so I don’t stress. I just sold my truck for almost what I paid for it. Without vehicle (other than motos) until TRX shows up. Something I read elsewhere made it sound like 99 meant no allocation lock. Made me start to worry I’d be without a truck for a LONG time. Didn’t help my order going from 01 to 99 after a change. Now back to 01 after another change. I’m baffled by, and kind of intrigued to learn about, the meaning of the codes.

I see most of you placed your order in August. Has anyone placed an order within the last week? I placed one today. My order form shows priority code 99 and BA status but no VON. Is the VON assigned immediately? The dealer did warn me that it is likely a 1Q21, vice 4Q20 build.

My Order went in on 9/8. Took me awhile to find a dealer that was decent. I have a VON and I'm in BG status. Sold Order, Priority 1. Never fully understood the allocation game versus custom order. I hope BG doesn't mean my order is just hanging out there waiting meaning does my dealer need to have an allocation or am I past that point and it's just a be patient for scheduling. I know the truck will be built but each dealer has a different story and I literally called 2 dozen of them.

I ordered on day one (8/18 LE) before noon and took me 5 days to go to BG status. It was not until late last week I finally got my VIN. Be patient a bit longer, you should have your VIN by end of next week. I called my dealership every couple days as I saw people ordering well after me were getting their VIN’s. Congrats on your purchase.......

Thanks. Yup, it has my name on it. I expect to wait my turn. Was just wondering when a VON would be generated. The dealer said it would be when they receive the next allocation. But others here have said that a dealer can and should just submit orders and FCA would pick them up.

ordered 8/19-order input that day but not accepted until 8/24 since it was non LE. been at D status since 8/28 with a VIN. no changes since then...i bug my dealer every week for updates

Customer builds don't start until mid October... the date I've heard is the 12th. My guess is everyone in D status probably won't see a change until closer to that date.

While we don't know how FCA is prioritizing the build order, I'm sure that they want to have non LE available to the public so they do not loose sales to the competition and while the base truck is not cheap, I guess they assumed that for some people 10K difference is still important. As to why not build 1000 in one day, I'm not sure the supply chain - hellcat engine, trans, suspension components, can support that kind of volume, so they will build as many as they can

I called the dealership and asked for the status update. They told me to call back every couple of weeks and they will gladly give me updates as things change.

Got some updates from my dealership and not sure how accurate it really is, but is sounds like FCA could be prioritizing TRX dealership orders based on certain factors (sales volumes, allocations, customer satisfaction ratings, etc.).

So if this is true, it might help if you ordered your truck from one of these dealerships that FCA is giving priority to, and if you haven't ordered yet it might be worth looking into your local dealership ratings and sales volumes.
