VON Tracking & RAM Status Codes

That makes sense. Seems like they could have just sent this out to us a few weeks ago. Sucks for people who were looking to get in on the allocations that were supposed to be opening up this month, but I guess that is how it goes. At least it seems that they intend to take care of building our trucks before they refill the order banks.
I better start building some ramps to jump it off of!

I agree with you, at least we got some info in some way...not what I wanted to see or hear but oh well.

Wonder why FCA/Ram wouldn't just officially communicate this at least to the customers that have open orders? Honesty and clarity go a long way and improves customer experience regarding communication and expectations.

So for those of us that currently have VINs in "D" status with non-LE, we were hoping to have the truck by Christmas and now it's looking more like February at this point.

Thanks for sharing!

Great find.. finally some concrete info... you should post this on its own thread... “TRX PRODUCTION UPDATE“ Thanks for sharing !! Cheers

edit- I see Loops has already done that..

This what i got from my dealer
I wonder what happens to the builds in Oct/Nov? All going to be built in December?

Waiting perhaps as late as May or the first allocation is rough, especially for those of us who are waiting for dealers to get a second allocation. I guess I give it a few months and see what happens, but I’m not sure it makes sense to wait nearly a year for an order to be filled. At least we have a better idea of what to expect.

Correct they also told me that they don't have allocation yet
I am in the same boat. I have a VON and at BG, but also stuck waiting on the dealer to get their second allocation likely before there would be any chance of my order moving any forward in terms of status.

Something I have been curious about lately regarding the TRX's they clearly have already built.
I have heard some people refer to the TRX trucks at the press events as mules.
I have also heard some of the press state what Vin they are driving in there video, since they are labeled on the plaques on the armrest.

So why do these trucks have VINs if they are pre-production mules.
Having a numbered VIN makes me think its a regular production truck rather it was sent to a press event or not.
My understanding is preproduction prototypes or mules all get crushed when they are done with them.
It would seem these are all VIN number trucks my guess they would be looking at getting dumping them in the market at some point via some FCA used auction somewhere. I cant see them crushing VIN numbered trucks.

My understanding is ALL vehicles produced must have a VIN, regardless of use. The VIN, in some cases, may indicate the use of the vehicle I believe.

For the TRX, we have found that mules are made with the last six positions of the VIN as 5XXXXX... and production vehicles use 9XXXXX.

If you're in for some "light reading", you can check out the Federal Register, which includes some history of VINs here: https://www.federalregister.gov/doc...97/vehicle-identification-number-requirements

Like Mark said, all vehicles need to have a VIN especially when they are testing on public roads. When it comes time to scrap those mules, they just have to track down the 5XXXXXX VIN TRX's. Volkswagen got into trouble a couple years ago for selling pre production cars to the public. Some of them may have been safe but depending on what stage you are in testing, some systems may not be operational and could be a huge liability.

Any idea how long it should take to get out of BA status after putting down money?
