TRX Aftermarket Wheel and Tire pics! [size/offset]

I’m still learning how to read these threads so I hope I’ve not missed the answer to this: with the 37in tires, is your speedometer now not reading correctly mph?
I haven't gotten a chance to check the actual difference via GPS, but generally speaking when you go up in tire size your speedo will be off. By how much depends on the size difference in the stock vs. your new, larger tires. Typically, going from a 35" to a 37" tire you will be off a few miles an hour around 40mph, and more like 5-6mph off around 65-70mph. Safe rule of thumb, is if your speedo reads 35mph you are really doing 37-38mph. If your speedo says 65mph, you are probably doing about 70mph.

Easiest is probably to use the difference in percentage. If going up 5% in size, then the speedo will be 5% off.
Of course, you have to use the actual revs per mile figure for that particular tire, not just the nominal size as shown on the sidewall.

Or just use the GPS on your phone and see exactly how fast you’re going.🤣

If the phone also fixes the odometer readings, and lets the car's computers know about the discrepancy, sure.
But you're right. many drivers look at the phone, not the road or gauges theses days.

I thought it might be kind of nice to compare the two set ups I've done so far so people can see the aesthetic differences. I really like the look of the 18" set up since it shows more tire, but I'd go with a +0 offset, or ideally a +18 offset in the 18" wheel if I had to do it again. That wasn't an option on the Rebel because the +18 offset hits the brake caliper.
The 20x9, +18 offset does not rub at all with no suspension mods and a 37x13.50 Toyo MT. (First pic)
The 18x9, -12 offset DOES rub even with a Rogue Perch collar and a 37x13.50 Toyo MT. (Second pic)

Thanks, it seems backwards from what I would think, but guess it shows you how important the offset is when deciding on new shoes.

I want a 20” wheel for everday driving for a stiffer sidewall, and do a proper beadlock 18 for having fun off pavement, both in 37’s likely, just different style tires.

This string has been VERY helpful. . .still waiting on my 22', but doing some initial research on the type of "shoes" I will upgrading it with. Now to determine the type of Tint I will also be installing almost immediately upon getting it.

Thanks. I'm very pleased with how they turned out. No rub so far on street driving, including trying to get them to rub coming in and out of parking lots. The fenders didn't blow off either when I hit some rail road tracks at 60mph and got a little airborne.

It's a tight fit though.
They will self-Clearance!!! :ROFLMAO:

FWIW, my '22 with the 37s/18" setup feels less "squirrely" in corners than my '21 with the 37s/20" setup I had. I would have thought I could sense a bit more roll over with the taller sidewall on the 18" wheel setup, but that doesn't seem to be the case yet in the first 450 miles. My guess (since I have no actual data to support it) is that the spring rate is a touch stiffer on the '22 or, the preload on the front that occurs with the leveling kit installed helps with the cornering. I was going to install the rear Hellwig sway bar, but unless I start to feel like this thing gets really loose in high speed sweepers, or brake stabbing quick corners, I'm not sure it will be necessary.

I’m regretting not yet getting the sway bar, while I waited for the leveling kit to get to my shop. Also… I found I got better launch from stock shoes than I do with my swap to 20s amd 37s but the daily driving/handling improved and that’s what I was mostly going for.

Fuel Rebel 6 in 18x9, ET-12 with Toyo 37x13.50r18 MT. Rogue perch collar kit installed without the top plate. This set up rubs, but it looks REALLY good in person. The bumper cover on the front bumper wraps around the bottom and has a "lip" to it. That had to be trimmed to clear the tire at full lock turn. The other (unresolved) issue is the lower fender flare piece at the bottom (back) of the wheel well. It rubs on the fender liner (easy to trim), but also hits the very last screw (1 of 2) that holds the lower fender flare piece on. I haven't taken it off yet to try and mess with it, but there is a small bracket behind there that the screw threads into. I'm hoping I can find a way to clearance that area a bit without it being a total hack job.

Would the 18”s fit with the stock 35” tires? I’m not interested in going to 37s but like the look of these 18”s and don’t want to have rubbing issues.

Yup, would fit just fine.

Any chance you have more pictures of this setup from the side and front to see how far the wheels stick out? Looks great!
I will try to remember to get a picture tonight. I have a company truck and don't drive the TRX except on the weekends
