TRX Aftermarket Wheel and Tire pics! [size/offset]

Can't say that I've ever came across "static loaded diameter" before. Either way, there's a difference between a tire's radius and its static loaded radius. Its radius is not half of a "static loaded diameter".

And you're right. It's very simple to leave any official numbers out of it completely and just use a tape measure to find out what might fit. Not sure why that is such an unpopular method. Other than that it requires thinking.

Although, it can be tricky to determine exactly how much a bump stop will deflect, even on a live axle.
On the other hand, articulation plays a smaller role with IFS.
Yep - since a tire is basically a big doughnut with a hole in the middle, measuring the radius requires a lot more work and is a lot less accurate then measuring the diameter of the whole thing installed. and if you need radius for some reason, divide by two : )

That is true. But only if you measure the diameter in a horizontal plane.
If measuring in a vertical fashion, that pesky bulge at the bottom (which makes static loaded radius different from true radius) will skew your results.

Of course, why you're measuring makes a difference. If clearance is the main objective, your method is close enough. In my case, when going to a different tires size, I wanted the revs per mile to match stock as close as possible, for a number of reasons.

As memory serves me, I got within 1%. That's definitely close enough, and the GPS confirmed it.

37x13.50r20 Nitto Tires
20 inch Covert Fuel Rims with a 20 offset
This is IT right here. Bad. Nice job. And no rub??? I want this setup. Already my fav wheels out there. I had no idea i could simply scale up to 37s.

Beyond excited.

You should have no rub if you stick with the +18 to +20 offset. Pretty sure the Covert comes in +20.

Anyone running toyos 37x13.5x20 (w correct +20 offset wheels or close to it)? Am i mistakwn that toyos run a bit bigger in diameter? This is why i ask. Im minutes away from pulling the trigger on new wheels/tires and want to ask one more time. Apologies if this has been answered.. The nittos seem to work fine, but i really want the toyos.

You can look up the specs on Toyo's website, and probably on Tire Rack's, too (and others) and find out exactly what the measurements are.

I know a couple of guys have ran 37x13.5 toyo mt's but on 18 inch wheels. Will definitely need to level the truck to clear.

What about the people here already running those exact tires/wheels w/o mods?

.
As long as you keep a 9" wide wheel in the factory offset you can clear a 37x13.50 tire without having to run a level kit or some sort of triming.

Curious why did you go 22x12 when the approved rim for the Recon of that size is up to 11?
