TRX Aftermarket Wheel and Tire pics! [size/offset]

Wonder where the "world's deepest concave profile" came from.
I've run 14" wide wheels with 3.5-inch back spacing on my Jeep, and that's nothing compared to what the sand people use.

I think those were 4Play wheels but that's photoshopped. Not a wheel expert but that's probably max turning radius with that aggressive of an offset.

You nailed it. I looked for a couple of hours with no luck. Thanks.

I'm officially impressed. If these Toyo AT IIIs work anywhere near as good as they balanced, I'll be happy.

Don't think I've ever seen a .001 road force reading on the balancer before. Only on one wheel could I use one of the old weights that were on the wheels when I got them, they were too large, but that one seems a bit wobbly and did take a fair amount of weight.

Naturally I only had four of them coated, so can't try with the fifth wheel.
Anyway, these tires balanced much better than a set of little 225/50s on quality rims. Lower road force numbers and less weights required.

About the only non-good thing was that the beads didn't pop with much authority when the tires seated. And that's the wheel, not the tire's fault.

Oh well, I most likely won't ever need to air them down much, if at all.

Can't wait to see them on the truck. Love the polished looks on the wheels.

If you have a heavy right foot, be careful @Two - those Toyos are rated for less speed than what the truck can do.

Getting rid of the governed speed is on the list.

It'll never be loaded to GVWR, I won't be going over 140 for extended periods, and it's relatively cool here. In other words, I'm not worried about it.

Your truck, your call of course - only takes a couple seconds over the speed rating sometimes . . .

. . . This guy wasn't on a dyno going 150 for 5 - 10 minutes either.

If going by the standards for speed ratings, it should take quite a while. "Sustained speed" is more than a couple of seconds.

Besides, I haven't killed myself with the Challenger yet, and it has tires that are rated at some 30 mph less than what they should be.
Of course, part of that is the lack of roads around here where I could do over 170 for any length of time.

@Nitro , just a sugggestion but maybe you could make a sticky thread for the wheels and tires section where people can post pics of their trucks with various brands and sizes of wheels and tires that they have installed on their TRX. Request that people post the size, brand, and specifications of both the tires and wheels they are running. There is a similar thread on a square body forum I'm on, and it's a great reference for people to use when they want to get a visualization of how their truck might look with different wheels and tires.

Here is my contribution:

Tires: 37x13.50r20 Toyo Open Country MT
Wheels: Fuel "Rebel" 20x9 with +20mm offset
Suspension Modifications: None
Trimming required: None
Do you have a leveling kit?

Anyone run 37x12.50r18s on the factory black wheels? Thanks...
I have for 7000 miles - no problems - but I'm still dealing with a suspension fault so I have yet to run them off-road over anything big. My plan was to get some new wheels and run the 37" Ridge Grappler for day to day and then run the stock 35" for desert runs this fall and winter.

Interesting. My shop recommended General Grabber A/T over Nitto for me primarily wanting better street performance. Have them on wife’s Jeep and have always ran a Conti performance on my M4 so… all I know is better than the Goodyear crap

Alright, so the powder coat didn't come out like I'd hoped, but I still like it a lot.
Looks like the little 1500 lost 200 lbs.

In real life the weight is exactly the same as the new tires are narrower, but have a higher load rating.
Used metal valve stems, in case these wheels will get recoated at some point. And now I need to find a rattle can to shoot the center caps in a somewhat matching color.

Looks good, any pics looking more toward the front of the tire to see the tread with wheel? thanks
