RAVELCO THREAD

This thread is 33 pages long with dozens of mounting pictures, have you read any of it?

.
I sure have! And I've seen pics of a half dozen mounting locations throughout those 33 pages. But thanks for your meaningful response. Cheers.

Yeah... we can be a bit ornery around here. Post #370 has the picture of the type of installation you describe. Unless you live in a tree and bake cookies for a living, you'll never see it unless the plug is installed. :)

I am in the Houston area and just had the Ravelco installed today. It was great. They were done in less than an hour.

The owner of the entire company is based out of Houston. Imagine my surprise when I realized it was him and his son installing mine. I didn’t realize until after they were gone.

Besides IGLA, are there any other comparable products to Ravelco out there? Anything that keeps remote start?

Did he mount yours on a little drop-down bracket, near the bottom left side of the fuse panel access? He just got here and said that was the standard installation. I thought there would be a hole drilled thru one of the panels down there and mounted that way, but what do I know. I'll post pics once he's done.
Yep! I wanted to initially go with hidden, horizontal mount but Rich advised against it. I have zero issues with the location. How'd your install go?

I took the time to give them remarkable marketing tips like a square black model, offering a simple carbon fiber wrap to cover their product and many more. For them to say they have enough business they make no deviations from their 30 year old product line was so rare to hear from an actual manager owner surprised me. On a different he recognized my last name and we proceeded to get into a pissing match. I told him of my two corvettes and such and trumped with he has a private jet. We ended our telephone conversation with the customary “F,,, y,,,.
I could not make this up. This day in age when anyone can be sued , I fully understand court proceedings. I do not post negative things without fully having “my ducks in a row”. Hope this helps.
Bro relax, it’s just a heated phone conversation about a product you don’t necessary need and chose to walk away. Who cares what they say, just let it go. You mentioned court proceedings multiple times til now and makes you sound like a Karen. I don’t have a ravelco nor know them or you, but I’m fortunate to have my own business and customers like you are a pain. Good luck with trying to sue a company for telling you they don’t want your business and great job recording a conversation that’s inadmissible in court. Just don’t try to sue me too now lol.

I’m in SoCal,and Rich and an assistant recently did my install. All arranged and well coordinated by Sam (Samantha) in their office.
Hey, I see you’re in SD as well…im also looking to get this installed. How long did it take for install? I think I’m okay with losing remote start, given the climate we live in lol but have you had any issues since being installed?

btw…where are you taking your TRX for servicing? Believe in the SoCal thread, someone recommended Kearny Mesa which I think I am going to lean towards.

do I have to purchase this through AAA for the discount? If not, how do I get that applied? (Currently on mobile so it’s a pain to search through this thread…my apologies)

My concerns with igla is that it's not very well advertised, difficult to find installers, not a lot of testimonials or word of mouth. It almost seems black market. Like if it's this wonderful product that does all these great things why is it virtually non-existent on the interwebs??
Lots of members here have gone the IGLA route - myself included. About $800CAD installed.

The key benefits have already been stated: No fob, integrates with factory electronics, no wires need to be cut, you retain remote start, and it is completely stealth. I use my phone as a key to disable the IGLA meaning it is completely transaparent in operation. The app runs in the background You can also use a customizable button sequence that you can set yourself.

Personally, I think the Ravelco is ugly, requires cutting factory wiring (ie not reversible), you lose remote start, and who wants to carry another thing on their keychain? Ravelco seems like a last century solution compared to a CANBUS enabled digital killswitch.

Thank you, really appreciate your input!! Hard not to agree with that.... I've had trouble finding installers in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. Do you know if any installers in this area or somewhere I could get more info for my local area?

Another member posted that you can text this number +7 (960) 503-30-39 and they will direct you to a local dealer.

From what I’ve seen on the forums, the biggest downside to IGLA is a lack of local installers for interested clients. Seems like a business opportunity ripe for the plucking.

I had an IGLA dealer only 30 minutes away. Worked out great.

Where are you located? How did you find your IGLA installer?

Found an installer on Google but had also reached out to Author alarm who replied within a few days.

I’m in southern Ontario just outside of Toronto.

Lockdown Security in Markham. Good service, was able to get an appointment quickly, and less expensive than their competitors.
