When I finished doing ACC on my truck I made a how to thread that had complete instructions on how to do it then I titled it so it would be easy for any newcomers to find. This is a great up grade and it would be good if you put it together for the members so someone doesn't have to go threw 4 pages of back and forth to get it figured out.

All in all, I'm in the whole thing for less than $400 (including door handles/caps, and the purchased pre-made harnesses). Absolutely well worth it- all 4 doors should have this standard on a $100K 2022 fully loaded truck... but I digress.

So I can't take any credit for putting all of this information together in the first below link- it's from the 5th Gen Forums, but has a very nice breakdown of the part numbers needed for the handles/caps based on truck color, as well as part numbers to make your own harnesses (you'll need (2) of them per side- one from the door handle to the door/cab boot connector, and one from that connector to run down your passenger door sill plate to tap into the existing wires). When you run the harness under the driver's side front door sill plate, you'll be looking for the green wire with white stripe, and the green wire with yellow stripe to tap into. Same idea for the passenger side, but you’ll be looking for the green wire with orange stripe, and the green wire with purple stripe.

HOWEVER, if @Jimmy07 is still willing to make the harnesses for people, I can not recommend them enough. They seriously looked OEM and made install an absolute breeze. Worth every freaking penny for the ease/convenience.

(I've never recorded myself doing any of my automotive endeavors, and watching it back makes me realize I should never do one again But it will still explain the process I took- and hopefully save you guys some of the anguish I experienced being the guinea pig!)

This video is basically the Mona Lisa of how to videos on this mod. The only thing I can add is the the T25 torx for the cap is left hand thread, so you turn left to pull the latch and remove the cap. Took me like 45 minutes thinking I stripped out the latch to figure that out!

Also, does anyone have a picture of the drivers side wires that need to be tapped? I'm not sure if I'm looking at the correct wires. There are like 4 or 5 green and white wires in the bundle

I just ran out and took the best pictures I could of my wires on the driver's side- my wires were right on top/outside of the bundle easy to see and easy to grab. Hopefully yours is the same, but I didn't have to go 'digging' for mine. My black wire goes to the green wire with white stripe, and red wire goes to the green wire with yellow stripe.

Is it possible that the handle cap is the problem and I put the wrong cap on? That’s the one place where it may have mixed some things up.

Tiny magnet makes all the difference. Works perfectly when the right cap is in place.

So knocked this out and replaced my ambient wire harnesses and the middle LED housing in the back doors at the same time. Went really slow on the first door, and all in probably took about 2.5 hours. Second door was 45 minutes max.

Couple of pro tips I gleaned from the experience.

1. Packing tape works better at holding your windows up than painters tape. Last thing you want is the window sliding down unexpectedly.

2. Needle nose pliers are your friend. Inserting your needle nose pliers into one of the nutserts for the window bolts will support the window at the perfect level to get the first bolt in place.

3. Have an extra pin or two available to crimp, if like me, you bend one while fishing it through the door grommet. The pins are very fragile, and I broke one off. Was thankful I had a few of the correct pins lying around.

4. You are looking for the light green wires. There are dark green wires in the loom with the same color stripes. If it werent for the fact that while there was a dark green with orange stripe wire, there was not a dark green with purple, I might have spliced into the wrong wire. Go slow and pick the right wire.

5. Finally make sure you have the right caps. The handles will not work without the tiny magnet in the cap. Check the part number and check for the magnet. I was one for two with having the right caps.

For number 2, I'll offer that you don't need to remove the bolts all the way. The tabs that hold the windows have slots, not actual holes. Saves a bunch of ass pain to loosen the bolts but don't fully remove them.
