New screen with update?

@ARInfidel thanks for taking the time to post this info regarding this. My issues haven't been as bad as many on here but I do have some glitches that I did not have originally and mine is a 2022. @RamCares this is also affecting the 2022 models as well. That timeline seems pretty ridiculous, clearly not a priority for them.

Well now mine randomly drops CarPlay. I will be cruising along listening to pandora over car play and using Google Maps and just like that, it craps out. I can’t just go to device manager an click the CarPlay icon to connect my phone. It says make sure CarPlay is on and in range. I have to do the reset trick with the knobs and after the system reboots, CarPlay will work again and typically for the rest of my trip. But it constantly does it on every trip now. 🤬🤬
Mine was doing this and it got worse and worse with loss of volume control and Carplay not working without rebooting the system or the phone or both. I did a factory reset on the uconnect system and It's been working great the last month or so. There are still other issues but at least Carplay is working almost instantly and reliably.

Thanks for doing this, but my questions are:

1. So us 2022s are just SOL?

2. How in the HELL is it possible to take SO LONG to fix this in today's world with AI? I bet a few of us on this forum could have it fixed in a week using AI. How does a company as large as Stellantis take years to solve this problem?
So my 2022 is garbage?

Hi everyone,
All over-the-air updates are currently paused. Once we are notified that they will resume, we will let you all know since we are still awaiting the additional fixes from the previous FOTA/AOTA updates.

Holy balls this sucks

so I'm going to be stuck on 29.44?
I'm on the newest version and you won't get any improvements, you won't see TRX graphics, your drive modes will revert back to auto, and it's still buggy as hell. However, I do have the coveted 480 horsepower on my display! So yeah...Stelantis for the win!🤦

Maybe, maybe not. 35.26 fixed my graphics issue. The drive modes are not reverting back to auto, it's just that you can't customize the drive modes and it incorrectly indicates "auto" on the 12" screen. Yep, some of you have had issues with glitching screens and 35.26 did not fix that. The horsepower display didn't get fixed either and that's a big one...maybe the class action lawsuit will include a few more $$ for the mental anguish it caused. 🤨 😵‍💫

This is how mine is acting as well. Also, my performance pages don't work at all, but I'd rather have carplay functional vs the p pages.

After an update about a month ago, I had the TRX engine consistently and for most part, the system was stable...starting last week, I lost the second gauge page and the RHO engine came back. It also popped up twice now with this APP update screen, takes about 5min to finish it. Not sure if anyone had this before...in short, I did a full reset, the second gauge page came back but now unable to get into the driving mode page now and again, APP UPDATE popup keeps coming back...love this...

I had this a couple weeks back and then had the radio on multiple start-ups began screeching at an uncomfortable volume until the truck was turned off or the radio was reset. This has become embarrassing that Stellantis hasn't corrected this by now @RamCares .

  1. Maps working in the instrument cluster is a gamble.
  2. Second gauge page is a gamble.
  3. Adjustability of drive modes is gone.
  4. Incorrect drive mode shown on radio.
  5. Intolerable screeching on vehicle start-up.
  6. Radio screen freezing and auto reset on vehicle start-up.
  7. CarPlay and Android Auto delays and connectivity issues.
  8. Performance pages access is a gamble.
  9. HP numbers in radio are not accurate. Some have Ram RHO numbers and others have Ram 1500 numbers.
  10. Purple App Update button won't go away.
  11. .......and now we are getting RAM advertisements!!!!!
I'm sure I have missed a few........

Ram doesn't care. Stellantis doesn't care. Majority of this forum doesn't care. Some people in this thread do not care. Nobody cares.

Have not had the 2nd page of gauges in months. It's never there. Gone.

If people are really interested in forcing some action on this, please file a report with NHTSA. The blank screen (loosing access to backup camera) and reboots while driving are both safety issues. Simply go to this link and inout your truck information: https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem

Here is a cut and paste template for the issue statement, just add your year and issues:
My 20[XX] Ram 1500 TRX has recurring safety-related failures of the infotainment system affecting both Uconnect 5 (12” screen) and earlier Uconnect 4 units. These issues are widespread in 2021–2024 Ram TRX and Ram 1500 models and began or worsened after forced over-the-air updates.

The primary defect is black-screen failures while driving. When the screen goes black or freezes, the truck loses all functions controlled through the display, including HVAC/defrost, backup camera, vehicle settings, seat controls, and performance gauges. This creates an immediate safety hazard: I cannot adjust climate/defrost, cannot see the required rear-view camera when shifting to reverse, and cannot access key vehicle information.

Owners across multiple years consistently report:
• Black screens, freezes, and reboots
• Loss of HVAC control and dual-zone functions
• Backup camera not displaying
• Vehicle/Apps tabs failing to open
• Uconnect error messages
• Smaller, harder-to-read gauges after updates
• Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto failures
• No option to decline or roll back OTA updates

These failures distract the driver, remove access to federally required equipment (rear camera), and eliminate visibility and climate controls that directly affect safe operation. The system becomes unpredictable and unstable despite the vehicle being in motion.

My vehicle experiences the same issues, including: [Insert brief personal symptoms: e.g., black screen while driving, loss of HVAC, camera not available, system rebooting, etc.]

Because this affects essential safety-related controls and visibility, I believe this is a safety defect in Ram/Stellantis Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5 systems. I request NHTSA open a defect investigation and require Ram to correct these failures.

If enough of us file complaints it will force an investigation.

There's a safety recall on the 2025-2026 trucks, due to something similar. The 12" EVIC is going blank. So FCA is being forced to address it. But....
There is currently no solution. "We are working on it" is what they are saying. Sound familiar?

Thank you. Just finished the process. Only takes a couple minutes.
