New screen with update?

Hi everyone, to reiterate, the U29.44 FOTA update was paused for TRX vehicles on 4/25/25. However, any vehicles that had already downloaded the U29.44 update or the U35.36 update prior to the pause would still eventually update. If your vehicle has received the update after the date mentioned above, please send our team a private message with your VIN so we can further document.
The development of another update to fix the items are underway. We have not been provided with timing yet to share for a deployment, so we do apologize that that is not yet available. If there is anything that has changed that you would like to share, we will also gratefully accept any additional feedback that needs to be shared with the corporate engineers.
Thank you all for everything you have provided thus far -- we are well aware that this is not the experience our valued TRX customers deserve, and we will do everything we can to help make sure you can all go back to enjoying being a TRX owner!

At this point its beyond frustration. Down right embarrassing now. Your team should be ashamed of themselves for this unnecessary update and how this has played out.

Ford just fired a bunch of programmers for their connected services. RAM should hire them. Perhaps then we can get Raptor R graphics. Hello, just give us the option to choose what engine we want. If we want better MPH's then we can choose the RHO (not that MPH's are any better). If we want to identify as a Ford Raptor R then we should be able to choose that. Finally the twin turbo Ford V6.

Give us the option to identify and choose whatever we want 🤣

Finally, is anyone else disappointed in the factory navigation? I have my theme set to dark mode. That is the only way I can see anything on the map. Light or day mode it doesn't show anything and is very difficult to see. Compared to UConnect 4 in our Durango. It just works the way it should. Uconnect 5 is a big step backwards in more ways than one

They’re not responsible for the update. They’re just responsible for listening to everyone cry about it, and pass that info along.
I’ve been thinking this the whole time I’ve read through this thread. It seems some people on here love shooting the messenger.

Or they want to just get the message across! Things don't get fixed when you sit down and shit up like a good little citizen. Change happens when we say NO, fuck you, it won't be this way anymore. That got lost on America somewhere along the way. When you are not happy with something you say it to who ever will listen. When your options to express disappointment are so limited and it seems that no action is being taken to rectify the situation at hand. One may get spirited in their responses as the frustration has done nothing but grow. Time we get back to telling the multi billion dollar companies to fix the bullshit instead of telling people to be less upset their stuff is fucked up.

Nope. It’s just straight up crying like a little bitch at this point.
They’ve been aware, and they’re working on a fix.
Incorrect, they have had more than enough time to fix this issue. You say they are aware and you read the thread but yet people have called and been told this is first they are hearing of this. Someone's not telling the truth. Must be some fucking good kool-aid!

I am perfectly aware of what their job entitles. Their job is to pass info along. They said it themselves. I would like RamCares to pass along whoever was responsible for pushing out the update to begin with should be embarrassed. If that makes me a bitch, then buy me a pretty dress.

I've never used factory navigation. It might be the cheapest, least visually pleasing nav I've ever seen/used. Always use CarPlay. It's honestly pathetic this is the navigation they picked.

This issue comes at a bad time for me since I'm starting to think of what to buy next. I was already PO'd trying to work extending my warranty with them and now this... And I thought Tim Kuniskis was going to make things better. Admittedly both these issues are really minor but I see them as warning bells.

Timmy has been back for 5 months, give or take a few weeks/days. You cannot fix years of thorough Carlos Tavares screw-ups in 5 months. I'm not saying "be patient" just don't blame Tim (yet).

The company I work in IT for, as I've said in other threads, used to be part of FCA before it was split off. Its one of the reasons I receive the employee discount on Stellantis vehicles. Many of the practices from that organization are still used in my company, and from what I've heard and read, Tavares pushed at least some to extremes in the name of cost cutting.

I fear that, as others already hinted at, it is entirely possible he axed the internal devs or at least cut them, making the classic blunder of "lets move the work to <insert 3rd world country> to save money." Same with customer service.

While I've worked with some outside-the-USA developers that are brilliant and would trump many USA based ones, the kind that are usually outsourced to by large companies are the bargain/lowest bid ones, not the high quality folks. Good quality software development means paying some good wages, and many company executives think "a software dev is a software dev, they're all the same" which is like saying a doctor is a doctor, they're all the same quality. They most definitely are not.

For some of you guys, delivering messages via Customer Care people (at RAM or other companies) is one thing, saying you'll never buy their products again or I cannot believe this is not fixed yet or delivering your frustration is one thing, but berating them directly or demeaning them is crossing a line. The problem is frequently the big guys at the top, or middle management, and if you piss off the people who can deliver the message to them (without them deserving it), you're just causing more problems, not solving anything.

And if you claim they deserve it just because they work at the company you're mad at, how is that different than spitting on soldiers coming back from a war? Sometimes a job is just a job and/or they're doing what they're told, they frequently don't make the decisions.

EDIT: TLDR - It takes time to perform repairs to a thoroughly damaged ship, stop trying to burn down the sailors who man the rigging.

So you being an IT guy why can't they just change the code and revert it back to the previous software?

Keep in mind I'm on the internal IT support side, and not the development side; I just work with them frequently, and again, the company has not been part of FCA for a long time (long before I joined them even). That said, I can think of couple generic possibilities off the top of my head, and it may be a mix of them as well.

One, it means supporting multiple software versions, meaning more $$$ for more people and/or time. Whereas its much easier for support to say "you're not on the latest update? first troubleshooting step is to update you." Then they only have to spend time ($$$) on support, documentation, bugs, etc. for one version, the latest. Having the ability to revert people also means they have to provide some support for the old versions they revert you to as well.

Two, cars are not just one computer (module), but many. Some of those modules are simple, some are complex. Some hardware does not support downgrading software, and if you try to force it, it can cause irreversible damage to the hardware, especially for the lower cost/simpler modules. This may be the case for some of the computers in our cars, I do not know. So blame the bean counters for cost savings on modules maybe.

Three, security and safety probably play a factor, and this may be the most likely scenario. If they allow you to revert to a software version that reintroduces a backup camera bug, for example, and then you hit someone because of that, they can potentially be held partly liable because they allowed you to use the non-patched "unsafe" software when there was "fixed" software available. So blame the lawyers.

Stealerships have earn what they are getting. Sure they have bosses that set policy but they contribute to the problem too. I don't have access to the big bosses so the front line folks are going to hear it. Beyond that, the only way I can really complain is not buying from them again.

You can't turn it off. It's not Wi-Fi it doesn't no matter what unless you remove the telematics module
It doesn't automatically update outside the US (waits for Wi-Fi). I bet that's the way 🙃
