Mopar Extended Warranty

so basically anyone whos used the dealership for extended warranties has been getting screwed all these years because my last extended on a 21 3500 cummins was 1800 for 72 months and 60k miles
Not always but usually that is the case. I know a guy who paid $3,400 for a 7yr 125k mile warranty from the dealer I purchased my truck from. I picked up the same extended warranty from Zeigler for $1k less. Granted not all dealers are the same but most try to profit from it.

I'm thinking about getting extended warranty as well.
I was offered at the time I bought it at the dealer and was told I have 6 months to make that decision.
My 6 month mark is up in Feb and I'm definitely considering the investment.
Will prob do the 6 year plan. I remember being told it is transferable, so if I sold the truck it would carry over to whatever vehicle I got into. The balance, adjusted to the new vehicle.

I thought transferable meant it goes with the truck. Whoever is the new owner would get the balance of the warranty. It would be a selling point for your truck. Am I wrong here?

You have more than six months time to get it. Check out Zeigler and their pricing before going back to your dealer. This way you are armed with some accurate pricing.

You are correct with the term, my bad. That's what transferable means indeed.
I asked the sales manager what if I purchase a 6 year and sell the truck sooner, he said the extended coverage balance would be moved to my new vehicle, it would not be attached to the truck. It is a third party service tied to the buyer. I will head there soon to confirm and will post here more details for those interested.

On my '19 I traded in, I requested and received a pro rata reimbursement for the unused portion of mileage I had left through Chrysler Warranty Direct which has about the same rates for a MOPAR plan as Zeigler. You have to make sure to ask for it back because I am not sure they will know if the vehicle gets transferred.

I did the same thing when I traded my '19 for the TRX last September, BUT I'm still waiting for my refund from Chrysler Warranty Direct. I was told that refunds on the unused portion of the warranty take anywhere from 4-6 months to be processed. That is absolute bullshit and when I call and ask about tge status of my refund, I'm told that it's "being processed". I will never purchase an extended warranty again!

In June, mine was processed and received within 2 weeks from them so something is definitely amiss.

How Cow,

I ran a quote this morning through Zeigler and it was 6k for 6 years 125,000 miles. It seems like the price has gone up a lot? Are the people who bought it early just lucky and now they have caught on that it cost A LOT to repair a TRX?

Others who have bought an extended warranty or other dealers on here please advise.

Thanks!

Did you use promo code: PAYINFULL ?

Good Call, PAYINFULL knocked it down to about $4,600...does that seem reasonable?
You're doing something wrong... not looking at the same options. PAYINFULL is a $365 discount. That takes their discounted price for the 6/125/100ded plan from $6,015 down to $5,650.

And yes, prices went up drastically on these plans last summer, when FCA realized they were pricing them as a regular Ram 1500. Prices went up between $3K and $4,500 across the board. My plan that I paid $1675 now would cost $4,675.

You need to also decide what kind of mileage you’re planning on putting on your truck. If it’s not your primary wheels, I doubt you’ll need a high mileage plan. The power train is already covered for 5yr/60,000. You could do a maxcare and match the mileage for a lot less money. Your truck will be completely covered if you just bump out the years and not the miles. The high mileage plans are obviously the most expensive.

I plant to use this as a daily and for my “hockey dad” shuttle.

Prob about 18-20k a year.

I’ve found the wheel/tire warranty is worth its weight in gold!

i was thinking about this and going to look into it i wish they still had the maxcare lifetime warranty!!!

where do you put the payinfull promo code tho?
asking for a friend

There’s a box on the website when you’ve selected your plan that says Promotional Code. Enter Payinfull and the discount will auto load

Doesnt the TRX already come with a 7 yr 70k powertrain warranty? So engine, trans, anything epa related is covered?

This is great info. Man I love this forum. 10,000x better than the Raptor forum (TRF). People are helpful here and not a bunch of peacocking douche bags
LOL. . .that Raptor forum can be quite a crowd - me being in it since 2013. Peacocking Douche' Bags is being nice.
