Mopar Extended Warranty

Always have to be sure of your sources when doing the "oogle boogle"
Yup that’s inaccurate it’s 65k on miles.
My warranty book says this "
The Powertrain Limited Warranty lasts for up to five
years or 60,000 miles on the odometer, whichever
occurs first, calculated from the start date of the Basic
Limited Warranty, as set forth in “section 2.1 E”"
thing lol.

There you go 60k… I do t have my book in front of me. I know it’s not 100k

It sounds good but read what is not covered and then it doesn't sound as good.

ITEMS NOT COVERED: Any normal maintenance item including tires, wheels, struts, shocks, brake shoes or pads, rotors or drums, belts, hoses, filters, fluids, lubricants, clutch, pressure plate or clutch release bearing and tune-up items. Exhaust or emission parts, sound reproduction components, collision avoidance, lane departure warning system and safety restraint systems, lighting, wiring harness, telephone, clock, television and navigation equipment. Any body parts, interior parts, trim, glass, paint, air bag system and keyless entry/anti-theft.

These are the main items that cost the most. I've used GEICO Mechanical Breakdown and the only downside is it costs $250 per incident. But given the fact you only pay a few dollars a month more on your insurance premium it makes more sense. It has a 6 year 100,000 coverage.

You should dive into your Geico MBI exclusions as they do not cover the same stuff, and same with the Mopar warranty that excludes the same stuff, wear and tear items, emission parts and anything that would be caused by an accident. Add in that $250 deductible as well...

Mechanical Breakdown Insurance coverage is in excess of coverage provided by your manufacturer's warranty. Read the policy amendment for the complete terms and conditions of this coverage.

LOL I figured it was too good to be true....

LOL - BusaDave being BusaDave. This RT 66 Warranty covered a new engine in a former car of mine. It is legit, and far from "to good to be true". To steal a quote of yours: "Look it up and READ it."

Well ALJ being ALJ does not always comprehend everything he reads and does not perform the specific discrete due diligence when performing a cost/price/value analysis. You figure it out after specifically reading what the MOPAR covers and here is a hint. Look at the detail. The other aftermarket one cited above do not even remember the name, but it is quoted above, excludes quite a bit of the electronics and some of the more sophisticated components, systems that are major cost drivers. MOPAR does not exclude. I just read my contract to be certain of the contractual language. Guess what it has not changed.

There you go. If you need me to cut and paste the language I certainly can but you will have to ask nicely. 💋

Now, take two smart pills and post in the morning. Yes I understand you made an ass out of yourself but do not worry about it.

The guys over on Raptor forum are recommending Car Shield warranty.
I mean, if their choice in warranty follows their choice in trucks….. Maybe you should keep looking?

Guess what it has not changed.
Were you expecting it to be different?

Can someone give me the busadave not-approved sticker? I want to take some artistic license

You must be a lawyer as this rhetorical speech is well, just that.

Here are some more details to warp your fragile little mind.

Options are (1) $995 for the easy street plan which covers you for 6 years or 100k miles. Purchase during month 23 of vehicle ownership so you get 7 years and 11 months of coverage, or 100k miles. No deductible.

Option 2: Mopar warranty pricing is not transparent and seems like a similar Mopar term would be around $5k. A hefty premium for a similar policy.

That savings alone and I was willing to pass on all of those extra Mopar coverages you get. So many of them, like what electronics are not covered, your speakers and key fob, lane departure system or collision avoidance?

Here's a more comprehensive list for your fragile little mind.

ITEMS NOT COVERED by RT 66:

Any normal maintenance item including tires, wheels, struts, shocks, brake shoes or pads, rotors or drums, belts, hoses, filters, fluids, lubricants, clutch, pressure plate or clutch release bearing and tune-up items. - Same as Mopar

Exhaust or emission parts - Same as Mopar

Any body parts, interior parts, trim, glass, paint, air bag system and keyless entry/anti-theft and lighting. - Same as Mopar

Sound reproduction components - speakers and amp - cheap stuff or you can upgrade to a better audio system on your own dime.

collision avoidance - Disabled and any reported failures of this. I have never come across any, just user errors.

lane departure warning system - Do not have, so no need to pay, plus same as the collision avoidance system.

safety restraint systems and wiring harness - never once seen or heard of these braking, unless they were tampered with.

telephone, clock, television - Do not have

Navigation equipment - Head unit must be blown for navigation equipment to fail, so by default a new head unit would be purchased, which would be covered.

Keyless entry/anti-theft. - Mopar wins with this one!!!

Air bag system - You got me here, Mopar wins for this one as they do cover a faulty airbag - but again, years back there was a huge Takata recall so I am comfortable not paying for this coverage based on historical legal outcomes.

Where is the BusaDave is being BusaDave sticker?
Went over your head like a SR 71... You have no idea how the integration of the components work. Just keep making assumptions as you know what happens when you do. ;) Plus for my 5 year 125k I paid about 1600.00 lol...... Need to do more due diligence Grasshopper. You make a valid but failed attempt at redemption.

OK--next round. ;)

SR 71 is by far my favorite plane of all time. And #2 is on the opposite end of the spectrum, the Warthog.

Save the F22 the Blackbird is still my favorite. Hated it when we had to close the program when Uncle put it in mothballs. Sad day putting the old girl to bed.

I just ran the TRX under my extended service contract under exclusionary coverage with 120 months or 125000 miles and it came out to $1130 that doesn't include dealer pack. That's not bad, I've seen some contracts pop up recently at some pretty ridicules prices.

Can you elaborate for us rookies on what "extended service contract" is?
