INEXPENSIVE 6 Piston Brake Upgrade?

I get the ability to touch all kinds of cool parts, and I will say these give me the same wow factor as any other BBK I've opened. Printed color Instructions as soon as you open them which is rare in this world we live in full of QR codes lol. Parts look great.
Great to hear!

18x9 Weld Ledge(guestimate with eyeballing bracket location).
Line up the lug holes and give the caliper 1-2mm gap above the rotor and that should give a pretty good idea of fitment. From the picture it appears the rotor is sitting low on the wheel. Not looking promising for factory wheels.

What’s the rotor thickness?
32.8 So A little thicker then stock, thinner then the competition for sure.

I had it decently lined up and spaced to mentally accommodate the bracket being there. It moved for the photo but seemed to be roughly half an inch of clearance at the largest area which is more than OE and more similar to how Alcon does it. I'll take my truck apart after my hair cut today, other wise I'd have it apart already to test fit.

Hm, that’s a bummer to hear. Would be curious on the pad contact area compared to stock too.

I saw this but don’t really understand the details. I want to upgrade my brakes what would you suggest ?

Hey Nick, let us know as soon as you get them installed. As soon as you give us the green light, i'm pulling the trigger on a set!

Oh and let us know what you use to bleed the brakes and how well it works. I've been doing some homework on this but everybody seems to have different opinions on what works and doesnt work. I'm tempted to just do the gravity bleed like i've done on every other vehicle but the idea of a vacuum or pressurized kit still has me intrigued.

Most modern stuff I've seen requires you to access the ABS to truly bleed brakes.

On my Vettes you can actually have the ABS bleed the brakes for you. It pumps the ABS to move the fluid, pretty slick.

Interesting. I haven't messed with ABS before and not really wanting to either

Also curious if anyone thinks we can upgrade to Dot4 with these or still stuck with stock Dot3?

Dot 3, 4, and 5.1 are all glycol based and compatible. Dot 5 is silicon based and not compatible.

I'd be shocked if any modern vehicle is sold without dot 4. Dot 3 is real old school these days and if changing fluid I would absolutely go up to a dot 4 or 5.

Ours are Dot3 which really surprised me when i checked the cap a few hours ago. Havent had a Dot3 vehicle in years and years it would seem

When I change mine out it'll probably be to Castrol Srf or Motul 600 since I've got some. Dot 3 is crazy for a heavy high performance truck. They really tried to save money on the brakes for this truck......

So I know DOT4 is technically compatible (chemically speaking), but is nobody worried about viscosity issues or any other potential issue since our system is made to run DOT3?

Gotta love those Amazon deals! I wonder which one to go with 🧐

I need wheels, they don't clear my 18s. So won't be a while till i give an honest review unfortunately. They clear 18x9 -12 ledges just fine and vossens i pulled off the wall.

How about 18in fuel rebels? Haha

I remember them being similar in clearance to the weld stuff. The 18x9 0 offset RPT1 JUST doesnt clear. I am sure I could grind the caliper a tiny little bit and it would be fine but i'd rather not because these things are honestly pretty damn nice looking.
