INEXPENSIVE 6 Piston Brake Upgrade?

Anything special needed to bleed the front brakes for our trucks? I've bled the brakes successfully on a few older trucks & side by sides with just hand tools. Just wanna make sure there's no special crazy procedure or expensive special tools we need?

No special procedure required. I would suggest bleeding all four brakes and flushing your fluid out since you're already halfway there. After 35k miles, my fluid was starting to look a bit dark compared to fresh fluid.

I used the AGM Brake Bleeder kit, which makes it incredibly easy to perform by yourself. You won't need someone applying pressure on the brakes while you bleed.

2025+ Rams suck, under that is normal so long as you don't leave the lines open for too long and have to activate the ABS. The 25 plus has a stupid abs module built into the master cylinder combo unit, I was unable to get a pedal without using a scan tool.

that thing looks pretty slick. You've gotta get the rezzy adapter thing too though right? Makes it a big pricey vs. just having someone push the pedal lol

Comboing off this which sucks because I had the Alcon Kit installed probably 10 minutes per side? lol then had to wait the next day to get my scan tool from my other tool box.

Ah, yeah, I forgot about that. I had to get the universal reservoir adapter. Even after one use, I felt like I got my money's worth when considering the convenience aspect and time saved. I've since used it on three TRXs, so I am a happy customer.

did you use a brake bleeder (if so which one) or did you just do the ole school pump method?

Kangaroo Paw was DBA's Thing I just believe KNS maybe relabels or bundles their stuff, not too sure as they have the same heat indicators as DBA as well.
I believe you're correct, though I think the two companies are partnered or something along those lines. When I was buying rotors, DBA didn't sell them for my vette but KNS did.
Depending on usage, HPDE & autocross stuff I run blanks because they are cheap to toss away. All you really need is a good set of pads and stainless lines IMO.
Agreed, I always ran blanks or slots at most if I was running a REALLY aggressive compound. Cooling is key.
BMW is still producing stuff with drilled only for some reason (newer M Cars).
I think it's for the same reasons I listed above, people think it makes them better somehow, so BMW gives the people what they want.
I have seen tons of the power stop drilled stuff split around the drill holes. DBA i haven't seen that happen.
Man, I've seen so many rotor failures around drilled holes it isn't funny. Sometimes on vehicles that aren't even abused on a track.

Yea i just watched the install/use vid and it looks pretty convenient. Any issues or tips you've acquired on usage? Did you fill the bleeder rezzy all the way to the top?

DBA are great people we supplied them with factory hellcat rotors so they could produce them.

The Corvette / Camaro / CTS-V (depending on sizing) 2 piece replacement rings a lot of people are gate keepers on part numbers

The RC kit looks like it uses the GM frame caliper. Used on the gmc SUV’s etc.
it’s not a bad caliper. Not the best when it comes to flex, but by far not the worst and it is an oem part on caddies etc. I think it was designed in conjunction with the brembo oem 6 pot frame.

I’m curious what the specs are on the rotor. After all that’s the short coming part of our oem brakes. Skinny rotors that can’t hold heat

And if a non drilled solution is available.
Looks like the pad design isn’t bespoke so that means compound options.

If so this is a winner

If there is enough interest for them as an aftermarket option I can probably work with Paragon performance on having some rings whipped up. I'll get some dimensions taken and bolt pattern on the hat they may already have something off the shelf too.

Pad I am going to dissect, I see it has a spot for a pad wear sensor so its certainly like you said Shouldnt be an issue cross referencing it.

It's really simple to use, just make sure you regulate the pressure to keep it within the same limits. They have a gauge on the brake bleeder to show you. You don't need any fancy compressor; a simple pancake compressor will do just fine. It does not need to be filled all the way up. I bought 3x 500 mL of DOT 4 fluid. That was more than enough to completely flush out the system and keep the brake fluid reservoir topped off.

Roger that. I've got a 20-gal comp so i'll prolly turn it down to the lowest setting. Did you just crack bleeders (1 at a time starting at farthest from fluid rezzy) and pump fluid until old crap came out or is there another step i'm missing possibly for our application?

Keep the info coming! I need new brakes 😂

How's everything look quality-wise Nick?!
I get the ability to touch all kinds of cool parts, and I will say these give me the same wow factor as any other BBK I've opened. Printed color Instructions as soon as you open them which is rare in this world we live in full of QR codes lol. Parts look great.
