First shots 2025 TRX test mule

I’m still holding onto hope that these mules actually have a different top spec Hurricane in them. Everyone is held up on this one build sheet that came out of the factory. If they have a new I6 variant, there is no reason that the factory couldn’t have put a prototype of that engine in and then just stamped the build sheet with whatever they want.
I’m with you. I’m hoping we see a more powerful Hurricane go into the TRX. Anything less than 700hp is just a let down.

We all know it’s only gonna. E maybe a lil better then the v6 Raptor. But don’t hurt to keep fingers crossed 🤞

That's not how build sheets work. They don't just put random crap in there to fool people.

500hp is pretty hot for a 3.0 running on 91. Don’t see how they could crank it up much more.

Even if that pre production truck had just the regular HO engine in it; there is no reason that they couldn’t be using that as a stand in for an unannounced engine. OR this could be a base engine.

I just don’t see them selling the exact same truck with -200hp from one year to the next. Maybe if it was a whole new generation but this is the exact same truck.

The marketing department NEEDS to be able to spin this as an improvement even if it’s total bullshit.

I get it, it's nice to dream. But we have to let the facts lead us, and there's absolutely "zero" indication of anything else except the Hurricane HO engine for 2025. It would be one thing if we saw a picture of a test mule with a rocket engine in the bed, or something similar. But we don't have that. We have verified data documenting the Hurricane HO. We have a transmission that isn't rated for high horsepower.
I always reserve the right to be wrong, but I just don't see anything else for 2025.

Facts be damned. The guys holding on to the dream of a 700+HP Hurricane I6 are still on stage 1 of the 5 stages of grief. There's still a long way to go before facts come into play. 🤣

I mean if the crate is 1000 hp. No way anything under a stage 4 is 700hp so I’m thinking maybe close to a factory 396 hp tbh.

They should kill the TRX name if they are downgrading by 200hp, just seems weird. It will still be a fun truck but name it something different and change up some exterior/interior features to differentiate it.

Like I said in another thread, I can't think of any performance/halo vehicle that has gone down in performance after an update or new generation. Unless the new TRX has a trick up its sleeve it's going to be interesting to watch RAM try to market this without a huge price reduction.

Even our rival Raptor had an unquestionable performance increase when they went to the v6.

What if we are all wrong and the 2025 has a twin turbo V8, something smaller like BMW uses, and it makes a shit ton of power and all our supercharged 6.2's drop in value like a dead fly. Wouldn't that suck for us? Not saying it's true, but it would suck.....
If thats the case time to order a ‘25!

It’ll be a failure and likely they will have to backpedal somehow… thats my guess.

The Baby TRX was always supposed to happen but when Ford jacked up the price of the V6 Raptor near the TRX's price, Ram didn't need a less expensive TRX anymore. A Ram spokesman said a less powerful TRX would be made, just "Not at introduction."

I was just talking to a Stellantis engineer today and he was telling me buy the current gen rather than the next gen TRX. 2024 is going to be a down year because they don't have any of the new battery plants up yet for the more powerful vehicles. After those come online, you'll see the power then

Honestly I think the Rebel will be what the rebel was supposed to be back in 2016 before they changed it to the TRX but it will keep the TRX name for marketing.

I think it'll be...
Ram vs Ford:
Rebel vs Tremor
Baby TRX vs V6 Raptor
TRX EV vs Raptor R
