Already addressed this in my second post. There’s a difference between theory and reality.

The real irony right now is that we really just outsourced pollution. Pushing EVs means you have coal fired power plants in China producing massive amounts of emissions to generate the batteries being used….not to mention the strip mining and slavery in Africa for cobalt and other precious metals.

It absolutely is in excessive quantities that are not balanced by natural recapture sources. It’s not the end of the world as some would have you believe but the science is solid that human created emissions have a definite negative impact on the stability of the environment. It’s pretty inevitable when you have eight billion of us all trying to live a modern and technology filled life.

That is the best description. The Rivian I owned was an extremely useful, fun and capable appliance. Totally lacking in soul but excellent at everything it did other than towing range. It made the TRX acceleration feel like a Camry but was just boringly quiet and efficient doing it.

Humans are a blip on the timeline and as you can see below the earth is still pretty close to the lowest ever observed CO2 levels and coldest it has ever been.

We also have been adding green to the earth thanks to the higher CO2 levels…

Per the politicization of science. You have to heavily manipulate data to show that this transition to electric will be beneficial to the environment, to our carbon foot print, or whatever measuring stick you want to use. You have to be willfully ignorant to believe that building all these batteries will be beneficial to our planet. It will be a toxic future. Not just dirty, toxic.

Yep. The electric advantage, instant torque. The TRX takes a second to spin up the engine and hit that 650ft/lbs, the Rivian is 900ft/lbs from the moment you touch the pedal. The difference in the feel of the acceleration between the two is night and day.

Rivian is fast but way to small by my standards to be useful for anything.

Current EV is a fad increasingly imposed on everyone by lobbyists writing legislation to favor EV production.

EV cannot ethically or economically scale because it requires rare earth components that are sourced from third world slave-labor mines.

With current technology and resources, hybrids make more sense from every angle.

Long term, EV only works with new battery technologies. Or there are cool alternative ideas like ammonia engines etc.

In the meantime, 2021-2024 TRX for the win.

I wish. I missed the boat with the short ‘23 order window and I don’t think I’ll be wanting to pay ‘24 prices. Slumming it in a relatively budget 3500 diesel for now while I figure out what to do.

Dang. That’s a bummer. I get it though. 24 prices are stupid and I wouldn’t pay them either. Used is also scary with the way people drive these things.
