Sorry if i missed it, but has anyone spoke to the people who make the Tazer or any tuner about programming some kind of start sequence or valet code. Kind of like the one dodge is releasing for the chargers.
Well, you could ALMOST do what you wanted to, if the "remember last state" of the Aux switches worked. I'm not sure if this was ever fixed in the 22's, but I do know that most 21's don't remember the Aux switch settings between starts. Rumor had it a software update was coming out soon to finally fix that. But until that function works, you can only wire things such that you have to toggle the Aux switch(es) on each time you want to start the truck.Forgive me if I missed this- I saw a few comments about using aux switches but I didn't see any real conclusion. Is it possible to wire in a specific sequence like: aux switch 1 and 3 have to be on before the truck will start? I realize this could negate having remote start at times, but in a sketchy area, you would flip them off, and when you get in, just switch them on?
So this makes the obd saver obsolete. If this is accurate, I wouldn’t make the Mobilistic device trigger from anything remote related (folks looking to tap into remote start functionality, horn, parking lights etc).
Located driver and passenger side.
I wonder if there is anything to block the open ports...not too sure what all is plugged into that harness. There has to be something. Superglue? Giant ball of JB weld?So this makes the obd saver obsolete. I've seen another video where they make pins and plug it into an existing port. I was thinking about getting some Tessa tape and tape the crap out of them?I wonder if there is anything to block the open ports...not too sure what all is plugged into that harness. That's just a CAN bus hub - much like your ethernet switch at home, where you can plug any device into any available port. On our Rams, it's located behind the dash, on the left-hand side. But yeah, you don't need the OBD port to get access to the CAN bus. Heck, you could just get a couple of spring-loaded vampire taps, and tap the wires directly - don't even need a port to plug in to.I wonder if there is anything to block the open ports...not too sure what all is plugged into that harness. Thanks @Tom488. You are the Solution Architect on the forumThat's just a CAN bus hub - much like your ethernet switch at home, where you can plug any device into any available port. So I vote to fill entire dash cavity with expanding foam. Ya know what's funny (and sad) about that comment? We just recently converted our whole work process over to the Agile system, and that's really my work title nowThanks @Tom488. You are the Solution Architect on the forum. Any creative ideas to stop this type of intrusion?
Hahah. I work with many Solution Architects and acquired the vibe from your syntax.Ya know what's funny (and sad) about that comment? We just recently converted our whole work process over to the Agile system, and that's really my work title now
As for ideas... no, not really - you can't disrupt the CAN bus without breaking lots of other things.
The fuck...
Easily defeated that way, but let's hope the pool of TRX thieves that are aware of and prepared for this gadget is small. On post #145 Tom488 even showed how to camouflage the relay. Nothing is foolproof though.I've been reading through this thread and sorry if I missed it, but isn't this system easily defeated by just replacing the Mobilistics relay with the OEM one? Sure that slows the thief down a little. They've got to pop the hood, get in the relay box, carry a handful of OEM relays... but now that they know what to look for...
Where are you ? What city ?I just want to say thank you. My plans of having the truck shipped went out the window and I had to fly out to Iowa last minute. I took a 2 stop redeye and got no sleep, and bad sleep the night before.
So my first day of driving was cut way short and I had to park the truck in a public garage.
That relay is sitting in my pocket next to my key fobs lol! I guess they could push the truck but it will be that much harder.
So thank you for the free overnight added security system!
Don't forget to put your fobs in a faraday bag while at the hotel.I just want to say thank you. My plans of having the truck shipped went out the window and I had to fly out to Iowa last minute. I took a 2 stop redeye and got no sleep, and bad sleep the night before.
