Effective, Inexpensive, Simple Security Device

Yep. Sadly i was so tired when I parked and pulled the relay. I forgot to put them in the bags until I got to my hotel room.

The mission darkness bags work 100%. You can walk up to the truck and nothing. Inside the cab and nada.

And their phone bags. No signal at all.

So I can recommend them 100% vs some others which let signal through.

I only made it as far as Lincoln. I only drive a couple hours. Tomorrow is first full day of driving.

I've been reading through this thread and sorry if I missed it, but isn't this system easily defeated by just replacing the Mobilistics relay with the OEM one? Sure that slows the thief down a little. They've got to pop the hood, get in the relay box, carry a handful of OEM relays... but now that they know what to look for...
In theory yes, but it’s about timing. Thief wants to get in/out as quickly as possible. Most will think there is a traditional kill switch and move on….IMO

And maybe we should delete this thread 😂

I've often had the dubious thought that there could be some thieves that spend time perusing the site...

Seems like a decent solution that is easy and doesn’t require anyone cutting or splicing wires. I still like the Ravelco but don’t have an installer anywhere near Michigan
They will come from Chicago and install at your location

Timing and visibility. It's one thing to sit in the driver's seat for 30s and quietly program a key. It's another to hop back out of the truck, pop the hood, and be digging around messing with stuff for another 5 minutes.

Add a shock sensor that activates the factory alarm so it's whaling from when they initially broke the window, and they're not going to want to stick around long enough to figure out the Mobilistics relay.

Exactly, my thought as well. I have the shock sensor as well, so hopefully it will help with deterring potential thefts. Most thefts knock on the window or truck before breaking window (test for alarm)

I did not know that. How far will they travel? I do trips to Indiana quite frequently for work
Not sure, I never heard back from Chicago but the Nashville Tennessee guy got back with me. I’m in Louisville but have family in Michigan so I was trying to see who could do it. Nashville shop is ready to go and will come to Louisville

I wonder if they would travel to Indiana. Maybe they could install for me and Rammit.

I do prefer the simplicity of the Mobilistics device, but was initially going with the Ravelco device. Since I couldn’t find an installer and stumbled upon this thread, I haven’t looked further.

Any reason the truck won’t start after having that relay out over night?

I put it back in and truck won’t start…

Did you put it in backwards? It’s a 4 pin right? I did that on an old van ac relay and was ticked after the 4th relay I bought and figured out it was just in backwards

Ya know what's funny (and sad) about that comment? We just recently converted our whole work process over to the Agile system, and that's really my work title now :ROFLMAO:

As for ideas... no, not really - you can't disrupt the CAN bus without breaking lots of other things.
We are an Agile shop as well, with a number of Solution Architects. Interesting!

I took a pic when removing your make sure…
Going to get a socket to unplug the battery.

I can vouch for the Mission Darkness bags as well. I've been using one since I got the truck and it works great.
