HOT! 2027 RAM TRX is Back as the Fastest and Most Powerful Production Gas Pickup Truck in the World

I am really thinking about jumping back into one. I will most certainly wait until they have been on the streets for a while before making the jump though. My 21 had several issues, and I don't have a good dealer anywhere near me to fix things. I had leaking shocks, driveline clunk, and both front axles were leaking too.

I am currently in a 24 raptor and have been really enjoying it (after some performance mods). Ford service has been outstanding. I had a recall on something, they called me to tell me and sent a tech to my house to work on it.

I'm reading the below online, is this accurate? That's a big jump.

2024 TRX 4.5 0-60
2027 TRX 3.5 0-60
This can't be accurate as I am seeing consistent 3.5 sec 0-60 times in my 2021 with BWoody intake, pedal commander, QTP exhaust cutouts open and FAS Predator lower pulley (flickering 13-14psi) on 93 octane with Vossen 20" wheels and 35" Nitto tires.....I believe I was seeing 3.8-3.9 when the truck was bone stock on stock wheels.....they definitely put out conservative 0-60 times on the gen 1

I'm with you. That and this being the most unreliable, worst made vehicle I've ever owned. How can I look at a bubbling dash board, 2 transmissions, faulty wheel bearings, driveline clunk and all the "update" issues and buy the same truck for $30+K more with zero real advancements. When I buy a new truck, it needs to be a NEW truck, not just a "tune" and massaging seats. Love driving this thing every day, but after 75K miles I can't own another Ram. I had high hopes for a new TRX, but this is a lazy reintroduction. Oh and I never have done any of the IGLA crap. But why wouldn't they address the stolen issue.
Sounds like you've had real shit luck my man! I'm curious though, How long did it take to get your new tranny covered under powertrain?

Also, what were the symptoms you had of bad wheel bearings?

There seems to be some good news. The "Level 2" package will be standard including carbon fiber and red accents. These options coming as standard this brings the "price" down to about $85K if we were to "pay" for these options seperetly, this makes the truck more aligned with 2023 TRX pricing. The official announcement from Stellantis mentions the following.

  • Technology highlights include a standard best-in-class 14.5-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital cluster and Head-Up Display with 10-inch field of view
  • Fully equipped as standard, luxury appointments include hand-wrapped leather interior surfaces, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, class-exclusive dual wireless charging pads and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system
  • For the first time, TRX also features Hands-Free Active Drive Assist (L2+) as standard.
  • Unexpected Luxury
The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX proves that cutting-edge performance doesn’t come at the expense of refinement. Ram’s interior design team focused on every tactile element the driver interacts with, delivering an experience that feels as good as it performs. Authentic premium materials—including real carbon fiber, alloys, leather and suede—are executed with class-leading craftsmanship, delivering unexpected luxury to the off-road pickup segment.

Inside, TRX elevates Ram’s benchmark interiors with even more detail. Drivers are greeted by 12-way power front seats with memory function, massage and heating and ventilation—comfort that extends to the second row with class-exclusive reclining, heated and ventilated rear seats. Seating surfaces are finished in black premium Natura Plus leather with perforated suede inserts and bold red bolster accents. Red contrast stitching flows across the hand-wrapped dashboard, door panels and center console and is further complemented by red embroidered TRX seatback logos and TRX-exclusive Ruby Red seatbelts.

For the first time, TRX features a leather-wrapped airbag cover with red stitching, a full suede headliner and suede-wrapped visors—details borrowed from the Ram 1500 Tungsten, the most luxurious interior in the light-duty segment.

Genuine carbon fiber trim frames the digital instrument cluster, covers the upper glovebox lid and accents the leather-trimmed door panels and rear console endcap. The TRX logo on the passenger side dashboard is precision-milled into the carbon fiber using a laser-guided process, underscoring Ram’s obsession with unrivaled finish.

The 2027 Ram 1500 TRX will start at $102,290, including a $2,595 destination charge. I don't believe $85k is anywhere in the forecast.

I believe the point was that the "base price" isn't that far from the 2023's.

On the RHO, the Level 1 package is $9,995 (there's no Level 2), and the red interior accents are $1,495. So if you take off those, as well as the destination fee, the "base price" of the SRT TRX would be $88,505.
The 2023 base price was $84,850 towards the end of the model year.
So if you really sit down and think about it, the base truck has only gone up by $3,655 since 2023. And, you get 777 HP. But you're forced to have packages that you may or may not have wanted otherwise. That said, from 2021 thru 2024, only 3.1% of the TRX's were base models. So "almost everyone" bought optioned-up trucks anyways.

For those of us who can’t afford the 2027 TRX, is there an option to add an extended warranty if we own older model TRX? I have a 2021 with 50,000 miles and I’m trying to explore all my options at this time.
The dealer I bought my TRX from has offered me a reasonable option on an extended warranty out to 100,000 miles that I think I’m going to invest in. I guess that officially takes me out of the race for a 2027. There’s worse things than a paid for truck with 702hp!

Can attest that is not the norm at all, glad you had a great experience with your local dealer. I cannot say the same about mine.

I still have my u-joint press.
If my (eventual) '28 has the same driveshaft, I'll probably hop on another group buy.
Maybe I could talk the shop at trade-in to swap them Day One...:unsure:

Other than the driveline clunk (I’m on my 3rd driveshaft from Ram as well as one lube job in between), my truck has been pretty solid. I can see why you would look at a different brand after your issues. If there was a second transmission involved with my truck, it would be gone by now.
Kind of a dumb question considering how much reading I’ve done on this forum but, did you get a new driveshaft under warranty just because of the clunk that every TRX makes?

Under warranty the driveshaft has been replaced twice, and I’ve had the fancy lube job done once.

I agree , my 21 TRX that I ordered the day the order bank open back in August 2020, was a level 2 high optioned version with a $92k MSRP. If this new 27’ model is optioned like my 21 for $102k , I am not all that upset by only a 10% bump in 6 years time especially looking at the runaway inflation we have seen over that same time period. There is a lot of stuff costing 30+% more today than they did back in 2020.

102K is for the "base" (old level 1) so a level 2 optioned the same as your 21 will be closer to 113-118 depending if you did side steps, graphics, pano roof, etc...

There isnt a Level 2 anymore on the Gen 2.
Looks like the options checklist will be short.
Yes, math still stands the “level 1” ( old level 2) optioned the same as a 21 level 2 will be blah blah blah

Not if there aren't any more Levels, no.

If everything except pano roof, boards, bed liner, etc. is already included, we'll be getting all the Level 2 stuff, plus the new stuff, for the "base" price, no Level up needed.

Unless we're all reading the ramtrucks.com TRX page wrong or it's purposefully misleading... (as likely as not.)

Are you suggesting the trucks comes loaded at 102K?
With no option for a level 1 package as the rho currently has?

If so I would say highly doubtful and we will see the same if not identical packaging the rho currently has.

TRX ownership IMO is 100% related to having a good dealer nearby....otherwise the factory warranty is f'ing mute. Learned that the hard way with my local (Scottsdale Airpark) RAM dealer (entering Lemon Law from their incompetence, a Pet Rock is athletic in comparison. The only reason we kept our TRX was finding an outstanding Dealer/Service Dept./Advisor 37 miles away c/o RamCares escalation/case #'s and resulting tenacious efforts by RC regional West Coast Manager 'Giselle'.

Similar experience with Ford however I was probably fortunate? The Tech that worked solely on my Gen1 (Whipple/full ICON/etc) and Gen2 (stock) also handled Ford GT customers, even my buddies armored (F-550 based) Terradyne Gurkas and 'Security' Raptors. My Tech enjoyed the challenge of working on vehicles 'outside' the normal box. I encouraged him to take my trucks home whenever in for Service and a couple times noticed/resolved additional concerns! His kids especially loved 'Rappy' (Gen1). Win-Win!

@ChevyLee Just ran alongside the Goose tuned R in N. Scottsdale yesterday, we rolled on very briefly before he turned off exchanging waves. Don't miss the TTV6 but definitely miss the robust/endless aftermarket and strong community and runs. The temptation still exists but now getting numb to my TRX power - short of an R would be difficult to settle for less during my daily spirited antics!

Added: Some related pics including my Gen1 stripped of lighting/etc prior to sale and some of Tom's trucks including his Dillon M134 bed mounted. Selling my Gen1 that finally was 'dialed' was my second life regret behind not buying Bitcoin at $12 because for once I listened to CFO buddies who thought both were stupid financial decisions  They drive righteous EV's now, their wives have stronger handshakes and think playing Golf is an exciting endurance sport. However that very memorable Whipple whine and memories vs. the flaccid TTV6 ironically led to my Spouse comment 'hey, why don't you find out what getting into one of those TRX would cost?"<- minutes later, found our beloved forum, Granger significant discount. next am ordered Fall 21'!

That's the way the ramtrucks.com page reads.
"Available" only appears on colors, sunroof, and the evasive maneuver thing.
