HOT! 2027 RAM TRX is Back as the Fastest and Most Powerful Production Gas Pickup Truck in the World

I’m not considering it. For me there’s not enough change/improvement over my 2021 to consider it. That and the wife already said “you’re not really thinking about a new TRX, are you?”

It’s hard to justify a vehicle that will come in at close to $100,000 even with dealer discounts. I just can’t wrap my mind around those kind of numbers. I look forward to others making the change, but I’m sitting this one out for now

If there was drastic changes and could get a solid number for my 21' I would consider it, but a paid off truck with my mods is plenty for me. I am glad to see the TRX back it gives me options down the road just not now.

1. The bloodshot scheme is awful, just plain hideous, we've been making fun of Ford for their R stickers but this is worse, just grade school, trapper keeper stickers level.

2. Still stuck with the moronicly low 118mph speed limiter. May as well just mod your current TRX to easily surpass that 777hp AND go faster.

you plan on going faster than 118 in a pickup? get a car...

Some do

Many of us have fixed our trucks. As cheap as ($275) and about about a hours work at home without ever opening the hood. Pretty simply actually. Been in the 130's range lot's of time and in the mid 140's a few times with more to go.

There's nothing more embarrassing to a TRX owner (well me anyway) than to have $30k Japanese shitbox pass me the road because of a speed limiter that kicked in.

Hmmmmmmm may have to get one of these. My 1st Gen was a POS. It is a little too pimped up for my taste and hope that some of this crap can be omitted if ordered. Going to give it at least a full year to get the bugs worked out which you know will be many.
I kind of remember when you sold it back in 2021.
What were the issues you had again?

With all due respect, you put careful thought into it before deciding it is not for you. That is considered considering 😉 jk lol.

100k for a 100k truck is alot. Certainly alot more than a 2021. Not that much more than the sticker prices after that though. It's a bargain compared to the 24s. I'm glad the new model has a few small upgrades rather than just being re released as it was. Losing that passenger screen was a good call.

I think we all lost a little equity in our current trucks due to the news. That makes it even tougher to make the jump. What warranty will the new one have is my biggest question?

The assisted driving or whatever it is called does not appeal to me. But I'd like to know if that is only a trial followed by a subscription fee (RHO). Same concern for performance pages. I think there was some chatter somewhere about losing them after so many years. Oh yeah, we did lose half of them thanks to silly updates smh.

All that being said, I'm glad SRT is back and RAM will soon be back on top. I'm looking forward to see what else they come up with 💪🏁.

I am definitely not turning in the 2022 at this point. I think more HP will be available down the road as Ford and Ram duke it out. Many options already available to squeeze out some extra HP on the stock TRX now. But its fun to watch for sure.

Been there in my 1st truck (5.3L silveraydo with 200 shot and bolt-ons)!

tips from running a fast & furious style childhood on the streets of MIA (yes we were raided by chopper lol): Always gotta make sure you've gapped, hit the E-lights, and let off throttle before you hit the limiter. Can never give them any inkling that they've won anything. You backed off b/c they're not worth the cost of your fuel to keep gappin em. If they wanna run again, you'll do a 2nd gear pull. Never agree to starting at hwy speeds with a limiter so low! After all, you're driving a lead sled brick. Aero matters at hwy speeds. I digress. I've only read all these things on Reddit :ROFLMAO:

The days of high used vehicle values are over, at least for now, I think it would take near a decade of low interest rates or some uncommon event now to get back to where we were in 2022, which was peak used car values. Back when TRX launched you only had that and V6 Raptor and competition was high for allocations. Now you have TRX, RHO and 3 Raptor F150 trims and also Bronco and Ranger Raptor trims so the market is much more saturated for these types or vehicles across multiple price points than it used to be. Just like before, some dealers, especially near high income areas will mark TRX up, some will pay and most of us will shop around to place an order for sticker or less. Towards the end of TRX life, the trucks were just sitting on lots for awhile at $125K sticker. I think the 2027 is well equipped but will probably have to add running boards and sunroof and the bed utility group for the bed step and liner, so I am thinking my MSRP would be closer to $110-$125K anyway as you know that Bloodshot Edition is going to be $10K option and I gotta get that, looks so sick, Ram knows what we want 😂

The MSRP with those 3 options would be closer to $106k, including the destination charge.

So @Two are you considering an upgrade for the 2027 model?
I'm not, but my girlfriend is.

That came up after I mentioned that her tires were getting half worn. Yes I know, but she has bought new vehicles for lesser reasons.

I see no reason whatsoever to "upgrade" mine. If anything I suspect it'll have even more tech that I don't want or need. Okay, I already know it will, so for me it would be a downgrade.

Of course, never say never. If it could be had with taller gears and a 140 mph limiter i could be worth thinking about.

140 + in a giant truck is crazy. I've gone quite a bit further in my cars (vette, gto, hellcat), but never in something as hefty as a TRX 😂

I've reached speeds of 150mph a few times on factory tires. It's surprisingly stable for what it is, but I'm not willing to push the tires further. It was more confidence-inspiring than my previous Rebel at 120mph. I may try to make further progress this spring once I get some radials.

Okay, how about 140+ in a small pickup then? That's what a Ram 1500 is, even with the 6.2.
TRX handles ~140 just fine, IMO.

Unless someone comes out with an AT tire rated for 140 MPH, it's highly unlikely that Ram will remove the 118 MPH limiter.

I'd trade the 118 MPH limiter for 4.10 gears and a 100 MPH limiter. Going fast in a straight line is boring.

TRX Forum Favs 👍
