If it was gonna work it would have right away. When I discovered the setting you just changed (trying random shit in desperation) the changes took affect immediately. Sounds like yours did too if the tile button does nothing now. If you revert to the original backup I bet the tile button will do VR again just like the old switch.

You can also try loading the 62014E00E044808000xxxx line (which contains the rest of the cluster settings), but we already pretty well established the pre-2023 BCM doesn’t do anything with it.

Having a button that doesn’t do what’s on the label would make me crazy, but as you can see from this thread I’m a little extra.

Nice write up I have done this in my 22 as well. Have had it for months at this point. I’m working on mileage correction on another route.

One thing to add is the radio must be a 23/24 as you listed or else the Ethernet port behind the radio will not work. It is present on a 22 but doesn’t do anything apparently even with 23 software in it.

A bcm may not be needed if 1 Mopar releases a flash update for a 23 Bcm on the server.
2 must have the ability to flash said bcm over what it currently has. As the 23 software will not show up on witech2 as available.

Me and a friend were able to do this to convert a 21 Bcm to a 22. But there was an update available for a 22. I would guess it would be the same to convert a 22 to a 23 to add the missing items to the software.

I was able to remap the tiles button so it does not give me VR when pressed. I can poke around as I don’t off the top of my head remember what I did. I can read my Bcm with alpha and send that too you. But I don’t use alpha.

And finally this is an expensive mod. Cluster Bcm and radio module.

I can program all these my self so no dealership needed but must add that cost in as well

Can you provide the instructions on how to do this without replacing the BCM? that would be awesome. How do you check the update on the BCM?

I always thought milage was stored in other electrical items on a vehicle so it couldn’t be changed to roll back milage. And why wouldn’t it automatically update as it’s an electrical item to update just when that is done. I know back in the day when we changed clusters at warren truck it automatically updated the milage from zero to current.

I agree the cluster should just read the milage that is written in the ecm, but it doesn’t. I think i have seen that the mileage might be stored in the ecm, bcm and the cluster.

The BCM was $250 and another $170 to program. I don’t think they will question the hell out of you. They were a little curious why I was going out of pocket since the truck is still under warranty. But at the end of the day you’re handing them money to do a job, so they shouldn’t turn it away.

Did you get them to order the part and install it? I figured if they ordered the part, they would check the VIN and order the BCM the truck came with. My plan was to order the BCM I want and play dumb like I didn't know it needed to be linked to the RF hub when they asked

I installed the digital cluster, then we uncovered the BCM would be needed for tiles so I put the analog back in to go to the dealer. Doubt they would have noticed but if the visit went on Carfax as a service record I didn’t want the mileage listed at 100 or whatever the digital cluster had at that point.

I bought it online, installed it and did the programming just to find the trick to marry it to the RF hub by making a new key didn’t work. Back out it went and then to a local dealer.

to those swapped to digital cluster from 2022, when you checked the RAM app, does it show the original mileage on your old cluster or swapped digital cluster. This is concerning to me, and it may be a reason to deny entire vehicle warranty based on inaccuracy of mileage calculations.

I just checked the Ram app. It now has the mileage of new cluster.

That I do not know. I don't visit the dealer at all unless it absolutely necessary. Which the BCM replacement might be me only time going

That’s seems just stupid as it’s like the cluster is the brain now for milage, and not the pcm or bcm or all the uploads to ramcares.

can you please re-install and check the mileage if it shows the digital cluster or the old #'s please? If it shows the old # we are good but if it's new one that would be so dumb that it checks the value from the cluster

it should also send you an updated monthly report not sure if it's been a month since you swapped.

I just checked the Ram app. It now has the mileage of new cluster.

Checked the Ram email, can confirm it's the cluster mileage as well.

what software version is your 23 radio running? There was an update that wiped out those mirrors. Might need to update the radio.
