2020 TRX Build Tracker

I checked in with FCA this morning to see if I have a VIN yet and got the response pictured below. Decided to talk with sales manager to see if I was in fact part of their original allocation or having to wait until the next allocation (order went in 8/22 with VON and as sold order 01 build). The SM said they wouldn’t have been able to sell to me as sold order if they didn’t have the initial allocation so it’s definitely part of the first allocation. He said he sees I have a “partial VIN created” but the rest isn’t created until ready for scheduling, but it implies I should definitely see it before year end. Interesting as I never heard anything about a partial VIN. I sure hope he’s correct! It’s annoying the hell out of me not having a vehicle right now.

Partial VIN #? As in, 1C6SRFU9XMN9xxxxx? Yeah, we all have that, except for the demo units. I, myself, have a VIN (ordered 9/02), but still in BG, I think.

Soooooo.... Partial VIN means no real VIN essentially? Just an approved order.

I've never understood the desire for "launch edition" type packages as the vehicles are not numbered, and you end up with the most common build out of all of them. I remember in 2011 with "inaugural edition" challengers, you could get blue or white, and they were by far the most common build, but my 2011 Green with Envy 392 was super rare. Both my Demon (actual numbered car) and my wife's scat pack challenger are 1 of 1 vehicles when considering all options.
To each their own, the launch editions are a cool color for sure, all of these trucks will be awesome! I hope they don't make it vastly better for at least a few years haha.

I was first at my dealer & had a choice between a LE & non LE, I went w/ Diamond Black. I got every option on a LE but I couldn’t do the Anvil paint. If you love Anvil then it’s a home run. I know what you mean & for at least for a little while there will probably be more LE’s/Anvil than other colors & there may be less Flame Red than Anvil for a while.

I liked the idea that Anvil will only be a one year color most likely but it’s just not for me, knew it might be exciting for a few months that I have a LE but after a while unless it’s your first choice for paint color that’s going to get old quick, color preference is completely subjective of course.

I love black on vehicles, always have, too often I went with another paint color to change it up & was disappointed, great vehicle could have been perfect if it was black... And the Diamond black Crystal pearl coat metallic is gorgeous in the sun, it’s going to be bad ass on the TRX.

Dealer just texted me and said manufacturing is starting today. So with my low VIN (#66) he thinks we should see the truck in a couple week or two at the dealer. Hopefully he is right!
If things go like every other vehicle I’ve ordered, the VIN means nearly nothing when it comes to the order they will be built. Granted people with a significantly lower VIN number than someone else that would be natural. As an example, a person with vin number 301 doesnt necessarily mean that their truck would be built before the guy with VIN 643. However, the person with 301 would almost certainly be built before the guy with VIN 3257. In the first example, if 643 is Black, and 301 is Blue and they are doing black trucks initially...then you can bet 643 will be done first.

what I am not sure on is if they will in fact do LE trucks first.

Thats going to depend on a lot of factors like build date, go to external vender for the bedliner/graphics/etc. , wait for rail.

I hope one does show up in 2 weeks. I'm tired of talking to y'all about Bigfoot sightings all over the US

Hey any word on production run yesterday 10/12? If so how many got onto the line? Thanks

Does anyone know if these trucks have to go to a vendor(s) for final touches, ala the Demon? Is so that could really impact final invoicing and delivery times.
Yep, they got to go to a company called Ground Effects in Warren, Mi. For sure every LE and Bed Utility group option is going over there since they spray bedliners. I would assume they also will do other exterior options like side steps, Rambar, tonneau cover and graphics as well.

Looking at the
Correction, they actually have another building adjacent to SHAP for all the upfitting. The DS trucks that get built Warren only go to the Ground Effects vender in Warren.

Link provided shows a rebel getting graphics kit and bedliner sprayed

That was awesome to see the process for the graphics & bed liner, THANKS! Cool to see the robot. 300-500 trucks a day, wow.

Looks like someone Billet Silver and Diamond Blacks are made... From FB today

Yeah I seen that. I'm having doubts if they still are making pilots. Something is going on. The workers on FB was saying production was moving up, now someone says graphics are being removed from non LE's, and they still making pilots when all info for months pointed to 10/12 production date. I can understand having a supplier issue which going to push certain builds back but to keep making pilot trucks got to be a QA issues with the trucks.

I’m in the aug
So now there's two in Maine, congrats. Looks like you got one of the very few LE's
I am in the Augusta Maine area an ordered a non LE,1st week of September,no news at all about the statis of my order.I am 72 years old, hope I get the TRX before I die.LOL

has anyone else moved to D1 status this week?
