question guys, i ordered my truck about 3 weeks ago and my dealer had 3 coming in but none specked as i wanted so he said he would order mine. they just called saturday finally to say they cant order it until 11-6-20 now unless i want black. i wanted granit crystall metalic. i will wait but that seems odd. he said they even asked their district guy and that was indeed the case. you would think they could at least order it even if the build date is pushed out.

So it sounds like they used their current allocations on what they already had ordered. I believe someone stated on the Forum recently that November is when the next round of allocations opens up. So it sounds like your dealer is trying to get yours ordered on the second round of allocations. Really not that odd if that's the case. It will save them from putting an order in now over what they are allocated and having FCA cancel the order.

I think I read somewhere that black was one of three colors they planned on knocking out first (which works for me for sure)

I've never understood the desire for "launch edition" type packages as the vehicles are not numbered, and you end up with the most common build out of all of them. I remember in 2011 with "inaugural edition" challengers, you could get blue or white, and they were by far the most common build, but my 2011 Green with Envy 392 was super rare. Both my Demon (actual numbered car) and my wife's scat pack challenger are 1 of 1 vehicles when considering all options.
To each their own, the launch editions are a cool color for sure, all of these trucks will be awesome! I hope they don't make it vastly better for at least a few years haha.

Dealer just texted me and said manufacturing is starting today. So with my low VIN (#66) he thinks we should see the truck in a couple week or two at the dealer. Hopefully he is right!

Hopefully, since today is the "official" start date, we'll all get more of an accurate update on build/delivery dates. Notwithstanding a possible strike.

I just talked to my dealer, and I am still in "D" status at a VIN ending in ...207. LOL.

I initially planned to get the non-LE edition, but my dealer called and offered me - since I was first on the list - the LE once they knew they had one allocation for it. Knowing it was a limited edition, I decided to go for it, since I am sure I won't see any others in my town... LOL.
