2020 TRX Build Tracker

Oh, for sure. These issues are present in all sorts of industries. I'm not arguing that at all. Only griping about the lack of communication from FCA and my/our dealerships and the piss poor customer service. "No one really knows" is not acceptable when spending nearly $100k on any product.
I hear you on the lack of communication. I wish it were better, but I have found that regardless of the dollar amount you get the same level of service. Even buying a house I had so many issues with the bank that was getting the funding and had to run problems to ground on my own...and that was hundreds of thousands of dollars...At the end of the day I think that it is down to the individual salesperson providing a level of service. Some are great and others are less great. I have heard from my salesperson at least 1x a week, but they just tell me "Nothing new to report, have a nice weekend"...at least I know that they care <3

Yes, my dealer confirmed the same ....

"21MY RAM 1500 TRX model DT6S98 29Y is constrained on the following options: Real Carbon Fiber Interior (XSQ)

and 18X9" Bead-Lock Aluminum Wheel (WS5) (Updated 10/05/20) [seems like they have been for awhile]

THEY ARE ON CONSTRAINT…THEY ARE WORKING ON IT AS WE SPEAK"

I ordered both & wouldn’t change either for a quicker delivery. I wonder if it was a QC issue, unexpected option volume or something else. According to the build tracker 48% of people ordered Bead Locks & 66% went with the Carbon Fiber. It would be strange for it to be a manufacturing delay (unless maybe from Covid) or QC issue on both options & if it was a volume issue you’d figure they would have built CF & bead lock trucks with the stock that had. And KnightMare has an excellent point.

But I once waited 18 months for delivery of vehicle (Ferrari Challenge Stradale) & that was quicker by 6 months than I was originally told. “All good things come to those who wait”, “patience is a virtue“, yada, yada. Now where’s our trucks!

My dealer called me today....unprompted...just wanted to give me an update...

He said that FCA only had 4 bead locks and enough CF to do 1 more truck..So they are building mine as we speak.....He said I should have my truck by Thursday

I am assuming that you mean they expect your truck to be done by Thursday? Either way, that is good news, congrats. Will be cool to hear about people starting to get these into their driveways. Will give hope to those of us who will be anxiously waiting the return of the carbon fiber fairy to spread the magic of dry weave carbon fiber across some dash boards.

LoL! ? So no spare for your truck? ?

The delays for carbon fiber and/or beadlock availability should have no bearing on a lot of orders without those options. So I wonder what is holding up those orders? Gotta be something else going on there.

Maybe all of the non-beadlock wheels are on the beadlock optioned trucks so that they dont have them sitting on cinder blocks in the parking lot. In hindsight they now see that they should have checked stock first...and they are sorry...

Also, most (if not all) of the trucks I saw in the press vids have the beadlocks. It seems like a waste of these wheels if there is indeed a shortage. Seems that the press people could have tested the truck just fine with the regular wheels. Hindsight being 20:20 and all.

Why would they build trucks if they didn't have wheels to put on them? ?

Well Shit....I will use more exaggeration next time....I should have said I will have it tomorrow
Yeah, sarcasm translates really well via message posts on a forum :p

You see what I did there!

Congrats on your truck, post pics on Thursday when you pick it up...or send me a pic of you in a truck driving pose and I will photoshop you into a TRX...no deposit required!

I wish my dealer would just send a text or e-mail at least once a week as a curtesy, even if there is no status change. The last information I received from him on 10-2-20 was "I will send you a status update the day it changes, I look almost everyday." I don't like feeling like I am hassling him because I know that can be a pain in the butt, so I don't. I'm somewhat patient and know that he's appreciates that. I know new launches can get confusing and the information being given out is incorrect. I had one order that the update was " Hey man, your truck's here". If that happens this year or next year, I'm cool with that.

But once a in a while update would at least let me know they are still around and I've not been forgotten. ;)
Yes, I get told I will get an update when it changes. When I ordered my Mustang California Special edition in 2017, the call I got was, "Hey, your car is here on the lot." I know how this goes...

At least you are getting that.

In my experience it’s always like this with new models. And I’m sure COVID makes it worse. There are still shortages of all kinds of stuff from fishing reels to bullets to bacon. I know when I ordered my 2017 raptor it was built in October and sat in Dearborn until December for upfitting. Which was probably the spray in bed liner etc.
I think I read one time the manufacturer can invoice/get paid when the truck rolls off the assembly line not when you pick it up at dealership. So maybe they aren’t in a huge hurry? But maybe they are. Who knows?? At least it’s something to look forward to!

My build is nearly identical except no graphics and no bead locks. And I still don’t have a VIN. People keep saying it’s the carbon fiber package causing delays now. Who the hell knows

Well, I'd love to see if they come through for you...
Just chatted with "Sarah" at FCA. As of this morning, she informed me my order is still in the scheduling process, awaiting all parts, so they can then schedule the build. I ordered LE on 08/18/20. According to Sarah, TRX production has not begun yet, but they expect to in upcoming weeks. I don't think we really know the true story yet...

I have carbon fiber with a build date of 12/7. So not sure if my parts were gathered before the supply chain issue or if they will build it and it will sit waiting for carbon fiber. I personally have not been told by my dealer that my order is delayed. I’m going to leave it alone for a few weeks and then check back in to see if anything has changed.

My build date was moved to 12/14 from 12/07.

Always both interesting and frustrating to read the updates across here and facebook group - from "the LE's wont be out til January at the earliest", "they aren't making customer TRX's yet", and of course "test drove a TRX today". Dealer tells me D status ONLY means firm schedule, and yet the code description says - "firm schedule - dealer has allocation and ALL PARTS AVAILABLE". A bit disappointed in the lack of formal communication from FCA - but seems like that is par for them. Just went ahead with some tweaks to my Jeep for the winter as I am going to err on an extended wait, hoping to be pleasantly surprised with a Xmas delivery.
