Tazer DT

No issue in general. There are a few that have had issues for various reasons that we are working through. There's way more users that haven't had any issues.

Hoping you don't have any but if you do, please reach out to me and we will figure it out together.

Bill
Thanks! I have quite a bit of mods happening over the next week. I'll monitor here and then give it a shot later this coming week.

Ok, same thing for you. Apparently that is the brake hold that is causing the abs and brake lights flash. Reinstall the Tazer and turn off brake hold in Live Settings.

I have zero experience with the brake hold feature as I have never tried it. For whatever reason, when you and @os1r1s updated and installed your Tazer, the brake hold feature was turned on. You should be able to turn it off and all the problems should be fixed.

Hope this helps.

In a " perfect world" you would be able to plug the taser into your computer and pick and choose what you wanted turned on/off. Only in my dreams...

Agreed!!! And for the Amber drls to turn back to white when the automatic lights come on at night

I love my taser. Purchased from @Boosted I’ve had zero issues. Try updating, and make sure you do the full reboot cycle. I have a feeling most of the problems occur, when full reboot isn’t happening correctly.

Also, mine are right above the hood release cable. It literally gets in the way when I'm plugging/unplugging. That might help too.
Another chance to get it right😀

Thanks. I don’t know why I am having problems locating the plug in for the tazer.
lol, you’re not the only one. It’s a mess under the dash to begin with, throw in the awkward position you have to be in to look under it and it’s easy to get turned around.

They added that feature in the latest firmware too. You can choose amber drls only when the headlights aren’t on.

In addition to making this thing configurable from a computer, it would be nice if they updated the user's guide on their site when new FW comes out. Currently the site shows instructions and feature list of 18.0.9. I had no idea the feature you mentioned existed.

Bingo......I've had the tazer sitting on my office desk for 3 months patiently waiting for the bugs to work out before I do the install but I'm still seeing these things crap out....and yes they seem to lag behind on their instruction updates as well. They seem like good folks to deal with but the jury is still out for me.

Update to the latest firmware and install it. So far the issues haven't been the Tazer or the latest firmware but more about the lack of information on the updates and I have asked for help with this. Hopefully that will be corrected in the future.

In the meantime, install it and I will help you get it setup the way you want.

In a perfect world, our trucks would come with all of the features enabled. The fact that they didn't and ZAutomotive figured out how to crack the code and open these features up for us to use is the next best thing in my opinion.

If you are passing along suggestions to z auto, I would really like to configure in the desktop app. Being able to change in the car is great, but I already know what and how I want things before I put it in. I’d like to set it just how I want and then drop it in. Also, the defaults should do nothing and they should make the user specifically choose what they enable.

Great idea! I will pass it along. (y)

I am running the latest firmware and don't have any issues. I would try turning off the brake hold in Live Features first. If all else fails, I will email you the firmware I loaded when I shipped it to you. It isn't available for download and you have to do a manual update.
I just put it back in and reconfigured the TazerDT. I found the BrakeHold under the live settings and disabled it. Initial tests (quick drive) suggest that was it. I also configured the AmberDRL for Day too, which is a really nice feature. I'll report back after I run some errands this afternoon.

One question ... Does The TazerDT remember the LiveSettings between restarts/reboots/etc?

I took off the zip tie, to show exactly how it connects and how it should look when done. Hope this helps.

I haven’t had any issues (knock on wood). I absolutely love the amber lights, and the ability to change tire speed so it’s accurate, along with the auto fold mirrors.
