RAVELCO THREAD

Sounds trivial, but why not just use The Club? If modern day thieves are more apt to use technology hacks to steal a car, why not just go old school and use a steering wheel lock?
Because the club is a gimmick. You can cut the steering wheel with a hacksaw remove it and be gone. Thieves don’t care about the steering wheel. They want the engine.

I sent an email to Ravelco last night asking where the nearest dealer is located to Oklahoma and product pricing. Here’s the response I received back from the guy who seems to be the owner based on the last name and where to write the check.
Thoughts?

The payment stipulations seem odd. I see what you're saying. Interesting, they say two hours install time...yet I've read when they come to your home it takes four hours or so. Are RAMs just simpler installs?

Weird that they don’t take credit cards payment.

DUCC dont. Not enough leg space. Once you'll get your truck you'll see what i'm talking about
So I'm planning where I'll instal the plug bay, think best place is by the door, left side right below parking brake pull switch.
I'm 6.3" and have plenty of room on that side while seating comfortably.
You also need arm room to insert and remove the plug into the system.

Well, that’s how it struck me when I read it.
My positive side says it’s just old school business and the guy has been doing it for 40 years… I could be wrong!

To be fair...this is old school technology, if you want to call it technology. It does work in the same way me camping out next to my truck with a Benelli M2. Truck isn't going anywhere. 😄

So yeah...checks only kinda makes sense.

Ravelco means if they want your truck they'll need a flatbed. I would add a shock sensor too. 150 bucks.

Can the same level of deterrent be accomplished with a Viper system to where you keep remote start functionality? Maybe. I'm looking into it. I just don't want another fob to carry.

Then don’t buy it, clearly it’s not for you and I’m sure your truck will be just fine in NYC. LOLLLL.

I for one would not disparage the product or company for their direct-purchase payment options. Can you find one single instance of any issues with the company, product or installers? If so, please post it, we’d all like to see it.

If you purchase the hardware direct from the manufacturer they stipulate their payment options. Nothing unusual with that, there are many old manufacturers who do exactly the same things, especially those with very small businesses and operating from a home office.

If someone goes through an installer and purchases the installation service and product together, I’m sure there are other payment options.

What are you the ravelco police? F off

WoW that's a bit odd that you send them a check to a persons name not "RAVELCO ". To me this would be a problem as you don't know what you are getting. I know they take credit cards, but am not sure if that's only in areas where they do installs.

No, but your mother sure did. LOL

Appears that several of you have zero ability to go to their site and actually read yet you come here spewing unfounded negativity about a company that’s been in business for ~20 years.
