Vibration/grinding on takeoff

I still have issue and was hoping it would go away with warmer weather but hasn’t. Doesn’t happen that often and only when truck isn’t fully warmed up. Only 1-2 shift. I haven’t taken it in to dealer yet. Unless there is a known issue I can point to I know my dealer won’t do anything. It’s impossible to recreate as it happens sporadically.
I can make it happen pretty regularly under the proper rpm range and trans temp and have shown the dealership a couple times. Ram Technical Support (in Canada anyways) is telling my dealership that its a normal noise/vibration and won't approve additional testing on the transmission to confirm this.

I can make it happen most of the time from a dead stop. Rolling 1-2 shift hasn't happened yet.

It’s the same for me. If I accelerate properly it happens every time..but only starting from a dead stop. Is there any other Canadians on here dealing with the same issue?

Dealer has a new transmission coming for mine. Hoping it fixes it, it’s not the transfer case as mine was replaced and still grinded.

Any chance you have any copies of your service records you could send me a pic of? Curious to see what diagnostic testing was done for the trans replacement decision to be made. RAM Technical Support in Canada refuses to deal with mine..say the noise is normal. I’m trying to provide them with evidence that RAM in the US is addressing this issue.

I don’t currently, they told me they disconnected the front and then the real to try and isolate the problem to I’m assuming the front and rear axel/ drivetrain. But who knows, I’ve got a new truck in order and once it comes in this trx will be gone, mopar has put a bad taste in my mouth after this.

I hear you about mopar leaving a bad taste in your mouth! What’s most shocking to me is that, at least for me in Canada, they aren’t willing to do all the diagnostic tests available to them to try and get to the bottom of this issue. I’ve located a dealership in Minnesota, which isn’t too far far from me, that has experience with this issue and I’m more than half tempted to make an appointment with them to have my truck looked at. I just don’t know if there are any issues with warranty since it’s RAM Canada/RAM US.

Read your warranty paperwork. They likely won’t complete warranty service for your vehicle in the US and Vice versa for US warranty holders seeking warranty work in Canada. Contact the US dealer for clarification.

That’s my plan. I called them and had a quick conversation about my situation and they said they are more than willing to help wherever they can. Worst case if they can’t do they actual repair, maybe I can get them to do the diagnosis work and put some pressure on the Canadian side of things and show them there is something wrong. They are very unwilling on my side of the border!

Hopefully they get you squared away. I had transmission issues w mine and I ended up dumping it. Dealer was great Ram sucked… It’s not just a Canadian thing.

This and the extremely noisy "ticking" from the engine are very, very very annoying

Hello all,
I have this exact same issue with my 2022 Ram TRX and I’ve experienced this issue from the get go. Issue is constant when starting the vehicle “cold” and driving the truck to a stop. At the stop when both (turning or accelerating in a straight line) with minimal throttle there is a grinding “loud eeerrrr” sound that can be felt under my feet during the shift between 1st - 2nd gear. This will continue to occur with the situation described until the truck heats up to temperature. I had taken the vehicle to my local dealership which had it for three days before they said they were unable to duplicate the issue. Makes me feel slightly better that other owners are experiencing the same issue and I will most likely take it to a different dealership in the area to have it looked at again. I will post with additional updates and please post if anyone has gotten any type of solution to solve this issue.

I haven’t had it happen in a few months since weather warmed up. All I know for a fact is mine is only in cold weather, when truck is fairly cold and under acceleration on 1-2 shift. I never took it to dealer, but wouldn’t matter much right now as I couldn’t recreate it until temps get cold again and even then it’s extremely sporadic. Hopefully one of these days someone will figure this out.

Hey..sorry for the slow response! No update from my end. I got super frustrated with the crap I was having to go through for this and put it to the back burner for a bit. Was hoping with more time going by, more people would be dealing with this and also find a solution for it! All i'm really hoping for at this point is for Ram Tech Support in Canada to actually approve the diagnostic test for the transmission which should show the issue as up to now they've been instructing my dealership not to do it! I don't necessarily blame my dealership for not being to help more..but I do wish they would be advocating more for me and put more pressure on Ram Tech Support to find an solution. Up to now all they've said is this binding/vibration/noise is normal..which is mind blowing! @RamCares..is there any help you could provide for this?

Do you have any additional information regarding this issue that multiple people on here are experiencing? Up to now all i've been instructed to do is keep going back to the dealership but when I do they tell me Ram Tech Support tells them not to do any additional diagnostic testing. So ANY additional help I could take to the dealership the next time I go would be very much appreciated!

I got my 2023 back from the dealer after they replaced the sway bar and bushings and now it’s grinding almost when coming to a stop… their response is just drive it and bring back after break in period to see if it fixes itself … I had a 22 this was not an issue at all…
